being in anitalianfamily from new jersey, i can be pretty picky when it comes toitalianfood, but i must say, rigatony's does not disappoint!

first, i love the vibe! it just feels like a family owneditalianrestaurant from the moment you enter, and the staff is incredibly nice as well! the antipasto salad and bread that you receive before your meal are delicious, and so is the rest of the food!

i've tried the four cheese penne, baked rigatony and sea shells, and they've all been delicious! the baked rigatony is my favorite.

if you're looking for an authenticitalianrestaurant in the valley, check out rigatony's! my husband and i will certainly be back!

deliciousitalianfood, great atmosphere!. following a long day of shopping for a homecoming dress, my boyfriend and i were absolutely famished and were both in the mood for some authenticitalianfood. after looking online for suggested restaurants, we found a place in nearby tempe called rigatony’s. it seemed like a nice enough place so we decided to see if it appealed to our taste buds as much as the reviews claimed.

when we arrived we were already tantalized by the scents wafting from the building. it was obviously a popular place, what with all the people standing about waiting for food. when we got inside there was a definiteitalianair. the walls were covered in interesting tidbits and themed paintings, and the decor an inviting combination of greens, whites and reds. they also had various knick-knacks and novelties for sale in the waiting area. we were shocked at how fast the service was; they obviously knew how to run a packed restaurant. we were at our table in under 10 minutes!

once we sat down we were greeted by a very friendly waitress who served us a platter of warm, wonderfully-crafted bread alongside a delicious preparation of olive oil and herbs while we browsed our menus. being timid to try new things, i decided to just order spaghetti. my boyfriend, on the other hand, decided on the penne rosa with sausage. we chatted for a short time, enjoying our drinks and the appetizing atmosphere while we waited for our food.

when our food arrived we were surprised at just how large the portions actually were. my boyfriend’s dish was delicious (i tried a bit) and my seemingly sublime spaghetti was enhanced to a point that i did not think possible with something so simple. in the end we were unable finish our meals, so our waitress kindly packed up our leftovers. still curious to try some dessert though, so we ordered two cannolis, which were very light and sweet. the chilled filling was a nice refreshing end to our stay.

altogether we only spent about $30, proving that you can get deliciousitalianfood without emptying your wallet. we will definitely be returning customers to rigatony’s. :)

can't wait to go back for greatitalianfare. first thing to know at this restaurant is lunch time is a zoo and you will have to wait or bar area seating be there at 11 and there is always tables. i'm a chicken picatta fan but the lasagna is to die for. fresh bread is crusty on the outside and hot and moist since it just came out of the oven. their house salad has black olives, pepperoncini, red onions, tomato, crispy lettuce and lots of sliced salami with a tastyitaliandressing. a different lunch special every day so check their website to see the menu. they closed their mesa restaurant over 5 years ago. i was broken hearted as my colleagues and i would go there once or twice a week. i used to drop by for evening fried calamari and warm sambuca. needless to say, i rediscovered riga tony's last week and have been there twice. great food, terrific service and great value. i'm a satiated full ducky boy (;>]

uneven, mediocre. pros........all you can eat salad & bread, very good!
server very accomodating.
cons.......2 out of 4 linen napkins at the table were dirty. 1 bread plate was dirty.
overall a c- establishment at best.
food was...ok. "spaghetti deluxe" had a couple of slices of sausage, and a tasteless meatball in it.
there has to be a better family styleitalianplace in the east valley!

italian cuisine. rigatoni’s is a family operate/owneditalianrestaurant located east of warner/and mcclintock road, tempe, arizona. the building itself is decorated appropriately according to your typicalitalianrestaurant, classic pictures everywhere and low ceilings; because of this you may be cramped. first glaze at menu will include many wine/liquor choices as well as manyitaliancuisine choices, prices ranging from $12-$18. great pasta and pizza lunch specials priced at $7.50 all meals do include complementary salad and bread. customer service is kind and social. waitress/waiters are quick to help your needs and to top of sodas. food is cooked well and served quickly and hot. prepared well and tastes excellent. portion size is limited, order more if hungry. i would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for italian.

better lasagna than my mom's!. that is a true statement, and one i never thought i would utter! oh my, this local restaurant has all of the efficiencies of a chain, but the incredible ingredients and flavors of anitaliankitchen in little italy. i am so impressed.

also, because i didn't see any other reviews about this, they do have a kid's menu with some of the normal options, but it is made with the same level of excellence. our two boys (6 & 8) had the cheese ravioli and loved it, ate every bite.

highly recommend!

great littleitalianplace. i went here for a valentine's day date, what an amazing dinner! we ordered garlic bread and marinara as an appetizer, the marinara was to die for i couldn't stop eating it and the salad had slices of salami in it which was delicious. as an entree i got the cannelloni, which are these crepes with the most amazing cream sauce. and for desert the apple bread pudding.. yum! i would definitely recommend this place the food is great and the atmosphere is friendly, i can't wait to go back.

excellent! just one thing missing.... my husband and i live so close we walk here. excellent value of the money. sometimes it's a bit of a wait. (down side of being good...) we don't go there a lot because they don't have any live music. it would be the perfect neighborhooditalianrestaurant if they did.

yum!. i thought rigatonys was great! i am a huge lover ofitalianfood, so i am very picky. my boyfriend and i ordered the fried ravioli for an apitizer. we chose it because it was "different." it was pretty good- i thought it could have used more sauce. before our apitizer came the waitress offered us a sample of their house wine. samples are always a plus to me! after the app. the waitress brought us bread and salad, which she tossed at our table. i ordered the lasagna for my main course, per recommendation fo the server. after my first bite, my thought was that it was very "clean." the ingredients were fresh and of great quality. not a lot of greese. you could taste all of the ingredients in each bite! my boyfriend got the sampler plate (these are always fabulous when the entire menu looks great, as was the case at rigatonys). he was crazy about the stuffed shells, which i tried, and would agree that they are fabulous! he didnt seem crazy about anything else. we ordered the cappaccino cake for desert.. it was big and..yummy!
the entire experience was great. from the service to the food to the bill! i would deffinitly recommend rigatonys and will go back.
