long wait...very dim, hot and muggy seating. sort of like i imagine hell to be...the shrimp n'gritswas good, but smallish...5 med to small shrimp on cup of grips with hot/sweet buttery sauce...frittata was small square of kale, potatoes, onions and squash baked in cornbread with tomato sauce....blah...in summary, long wait for overpriced small porting servings....won't be back.

very good! the shrimp andgritswere creamy, spicy, slightly sweet, and wonderfully seasoned. my husband had an omelette and enjoyed it very much. plenty of food for a decent price. very high quality.

every once in a while, my friends and i would go on what i call a foodie road trip.  it's where we would go somewhere to just literally eat.  on this trip to atlanta, i was determined to go somewhere outside of the norm. thanks to siri, i found this place called ria's bluebird on memorial drive in the grant park area.  it was definitely a good sign that we pulled up there was no where to park.  there was also a wait outside.  i signed in on a sheet just inside the door and settled outside to wait with the rest of the hungry patrons. i got the bluebird burrito.  it had 2 scrambled eggs, skillet potatoes, white cheddar, black beans topped with salsa verda and sour cream.  i get to also chose from a list of sides.  i got the organicgritswith cheese.  in all, it cost about $10.  i was starving and this is just right.  i did forget there was no meat inside the burrito and thought i should have gotten a side of bacon or something.  i was glad i got thegritsthough.  it was rich and creamy

just ok...not worth a special trip. gave ria's a shot because of the great reviews, but found the food to be just okay. we had the beef brisket and poached eggs (tender but no punch of flavor), the blackened fish andgrits(fish was covered in seasonings rather than blackened) and pancakes, which were the highlight. the atmosphere is cool, especially inside, but in terms of the food, there is nothing that puts this place above other popular breakfast restaurants.

we were down this way not long ago on a visit to oakland cemetery and i promised myself we'd come back to try ria's bluebird. every time we've gone past ria's bluebird it's been packed and this day was no exception. we waited about 20 minutes and we were seated with coffee right away. the atmosphere is warm and inviting and the staff could not have been nicer. we both ordered omelettes and they arrived much more quickly than we had expected. one thing right off the bat, is that these are two egg omelettes rather than 3 egg which we've become accustomed to elsewhere yet they are the same price range. melanie had her omelette with her usual assortment of veggie stuffings. for her side items, she ordered the creamygritsand soysage . i had wanted the sausage (standard pork sausage for me) inside of my omelette but the server must've misunderstood because i received the three cheese omelette (the omelette of the day) with the sausage on the side. i also had the skillet po

worth the pilgrimage.. traveled all the way from orlando to visit a friend with only one goal in mind for the trip: eat at ria's. we split three entrees; my friend is vegetarian so we had the bionic breakfast, the pancakes with caramelized bananas, and the fish andgrits(fish in my half, without for him).

on a scale of one to ten, where
5 is "i like it"
6 is "i really like it."
7 is "mmmm wow this is good."
8 is "i'm in love."
9 is "i would move to have this every day." and
10 is "i would probably inject this into my uterus with a syringe in hopes that my babies would come out this awesome."

the pancakes were probably a 9-10. the fish andgritswere somewhere around an 8-9 and the bionic breakfast was a hard 6.5. (the flavorway was great, but the potatoes seemed a little undercooked--dry and grainy, which was odd.)

something special about the pancakes: i tend to eat quickly when excited about food and pancakes in particular tend to be thick and mealy and gum up in my throat, which is extremely uncomfortable (maybe i have a slight gluten allergy?). these were so easy to eat, not only the flavor and the texture were incredible but the sheer ease and comfort was just amazing. these are by far the best pancakes i've ever tasted. i can't think of any that hold a candle.

the fish andgritswere also incredibly awesome, but at the risk of waxing poetic again i'll let you discover them for yourself. i would gladly wait in the heat and the rain for another meal here.

yummy food. i found this place on urbanspoon because i wanted to try something new. there was a long wait but i see why. the food was excellent. i had the fish andgrits(blackened tilapia and organic grits) and i loved every bit. the fish had a little kick from the seasoning but was cooled with grits. this speaks volumes since i am a very picky eater and generally do not eat grits. i would highly recommend this place for everyone to try.
