been here a few times and enjoy the food. it's great.
i don't like how they try to photograph you every time i go there. the place lacks a certain classiness you'd think be here. i may go back but not as often as i have.

not worth it. don't go, and if you do, don't have high expectations.

it was exactly what i thought it would be. my wife and i looked over our options for an anniversary dinner around niagara falls and buffalo. we saw the skylon and made reservations. we were worried after reading some of the reviews. i am glad we decided to go. it was pricey but the filet mignon was excellent as was the salmon. the atmosphere really made the event great. they even delivered a complimentary dessert to our table for the event. it was great and i suggest if you want to be treated well, give them a try. we had tom in charge of our table and never a thing was asked for because he was right there and paid the upmost attention to our needs. thanks to the staff for making dinner so memorable for us both.

the food has improved 10 fold! looks like they listened to the reviews. so the view 5 stars, service 5 stars and food 5 stars (at last)

the best thing about this restaurant is the awesome view . the taste and portion of the food was good too.price is on the other higher side which is expected.. the only complain is not everyone gets to sit by the window even though you are paying the same bucks for the food .. we went there for the view but was not fortunate to get the table by the window .. when we asked that if we can change to the vacant tables in front of us , the server said she will talk to the manager and let us know if that is possible .. unfortunately she never gave us any answer .. regardless it was an awesome experience .. i would highly recommend this one .. life time experience of the niagara falls from the top, not to be missed.

note: off-season lunch dining experience.  enjoyed the experience immensely.  the rotating dining room was fun and i enjoyed seeing different views of the city - in addition to great views of the falls.  the food was good...i ordered the french onion soup, salmon with soya sauce, and the pecan pie.  portions were decent size...food was overpriced, but then you should expect that.  total meal was $55 usd + tip.  service was good, but they weren't very busy.  tables were small...i'm a big guy and i can't imagine eating at the table with four people.  overall, a really nice dining experience and i would return.

how do i rate this a 0?  this might have been the worst restaurant i've ever been to.  the only thing going for this restaurant is the 15 minutes per hour view of the falls.  the rest of the view of niagara is lame.  the food was atrocious.  i ordered the escargot, which was actually pretty good.  as a main, i ordered the rack of lamb medium rare.  it came "well boiled" and cut into pieces.  it looked like a wooden spoon was used to cut it.  i sent it back and indicated i had asked for it well done.  it came back about 10 minutes later, again, cut up into gross pieces and boiled and wet looking.  it was medium rare this time but still just as unappetizing as the first time.  the accompanied fries were terrible and not cooked right.  the vegetables were boiled and everything reminded me of  a hospital.  i should have turned around when i noticed that nasty clinical smell when the elevator doors opened.  this place is a good replica of an old folks dining room or hospital lounge.

visitor from america. if you go, go for the view and not the food. the food was incredibly over priced for the quality. the filet mignon was ok but i've had sirloin that was better. the vegetables were a little under done for my taste and completely unseasoned...no butter, no lemon, no olive oil, no salt or pepper. the seafood pasta was mostly unopened muscles. sauce was awful. the french waiter did not seem nice at all until after he got his tip. the waitress was nice. oh, my drink was awful. a manhattan was on the menu (no beer here that i found) and it had not one drop off bitters in it and not enough or any sweet vermouth for my taste. i had it remade and then it was good. i can not express how incredibly over priced this is food the food. but the ticket for the observation deck and skip the restaurant

staff was incredibly rude, i have never gone to any establishment and felt so insulted. prime rib was ok - not great, the seafood symphony wasn't bad more average than anything.

apple pie and cheesecake are awesome!

caesars were un-drinkable, sent back once, all they did was dump in spices, definitely made it worse!

don't bother coming here!

great sunday brunch. we took a group of 11 here for the sunday brunch. this restaurant is well maintained and the manager is all about customer service. there was an excellent selection of food for the buffet which included good quality breakfast items, lunch items, fruit, salads and many desserts. my only complaint was with the bacon which seemed to have a somewhat "gamey" flavor.

i do need to say that not all of the wait staff were on their "a" game. my coffee refills were somewhat slow or required the hailing of a server.

i had my new years dinner here and do not recommend it at all!! worst fine dining experience of my life! i feel robbed and my stomach is uneasy because the food was so bad. do not eat here, my steak was burnt to a crisp, my sisters pasta was over cooked and the chicken was tasteless. not worth the money nor the view.

not for the food. although i do wish the food had been better, the views, atmosphere, and service were absolutely superb. to be fair, it is very tough to find any real food at all in niagara falls, which seems to be the place that chain restaurants go to die. be aware that the best seats, which are on the perimeter near the window, are actually 4-tops, so if you are just a couple and you want a window seat, you will be sitting right next to strangers. like so close your elbows touch. the food is very expensive (you pay for the view) and quite ordinary as other reviewers have said. i enjoyed my appetizer, the escargot, very much, and was very pleased with the selection of local wines from the niagara wineries.

went here on a getaway to niagara falls during the thanksgiving weekend. unfortunately that night was quite misty and our view (which would probably be incredible) was pretty obscured. this should not have been a big deal as part of having great food with an incredible view is having great food. sadly this is where skylon restaurant failed miserably.
first indication was the tacky menus (protip- when you are charging $55 an entrée, pricing it $54.95 sounds more like an oil change offer than a fine dining experience).

we both decided on the thanksgiving special, figuring a restaurant's special is usually fresh and well cooked (as the kitchen is setup for that plate). we were thoroughly disappointed.
the potatoes tasted like they were cooked that morning (our reservation was 9pm) and left under a heat lamp the rest of the day. the stuffing was indistinguishable from stove top, and the turkey tasted dry and old (possibly cooked that morning like the potatoes, though it could have been cooked the week before based on the rubbery dry taste).
dessert was a pumpkin pie, which was delicious, but was garnished with blackberries and raspberries (like a ny cheesecake), which did not all work well flavor-wise. just a caramel drizzle would have been better.

the service was prompt and professional, though they seemed on edge and needlessly hurried for what seemed to be a well staffed dining room. perhaps the front of house manager is not managing them properly? in any case, though they weren't easy going or friendly, the waitstaff were quick and professional.

i have no problem paying top prices for great food, or getting a passable dish on the cheap, but getting that kind of meal from a place that charges what skylon does is unacceptable.

3 out 4 got it right!. super nice place! great food, a bit pricy, but it a nice spot to see the falls. we order food, and all was good except mine, the skylon's spectacular rack of lamb was over cooked! big disappointment but the other 3, was amazing! the service and place looks great to. be prepared to pay 100$ per head.

loved the experience and the view, but it was very expensive. two entrees, two glasses of wine plus tax & tip totaled $175. granted, you don't have to pay for the observation deck, so that saved us about $25. and the experience was probably worth another $30. even so, i would expect the food to be outstanding. and, as other urbanspooners have mentioned, it is not. my husband had prime rib, and it was average. i had seafood pasta. the sauce was bland and watery. i would have preferred that the pasta be fresh and homemade. again, very average or not quite average. still, we enjoyed the experience and i'm glad we went because it is a unique way to view the falls. if you can afford it.
