unparalleled view with ordinary food. the skylon tower revolving dining room provides an absolutely heavenly view of niagara falls however the food we had fell short of the pristine atmosphere. we dined during the early seating (4:30, 5:00pm) in an order to spare our dining out budget. the mixed garden green salad's lettuce was limp and watery as if they had been sitting out for hours. when our entrees arrived the grilled fresh salmon filet was overcooked but my grilled new york sirloin steak was actually cooked to the temperature i ordered (good job!). we finished our meal by sharing the chocolate amaretto torte and the chocolate mousse chantilly accompanied with coffee. if i was to visit skylon tower again i think i would just pay to visit the observation deck and dine at another restaurant in the niagara falls area.

groupon disaster. my girlfriend and i purchased a groupon for a niagara falls weekend getaway that included what was misrepresented as a $40 gift certificate to the skylon restaurant. we each ordered a $42 plate and $10 glass of wine only to be told when we received the bill that we had needed to order 2 appetizers and 2 desserts in order to receive the $40 discount. our server was very unhelpful and blunt, telling us that we had used the gift card incorrectly and that this has happened to several other people as well. in addition, at no point during our meal did she check with us to see how the food was.

it would seem to me that if this is a regular occurance that they should ask their customers if they are using a voucher or coupon for their meal, since it is not clear that we need to present it upon arrival. when we presented this suggestion to her she said that some people might find it offensive to be asked this question. in my opinion, it is much more offensive to be left surprised with a very expensive bill and a worthless coupon with no real apology.

definitely won't recommend this restaurant to anyone, and will never eat there again.

this is about the buffett upstairs. we had our rehersal dinner and the food and view were great. ten years later we went to the skylon buffet upstairs. wow. where to start. how about rotating the food out now and again. and dont give me too much prime rib. i know hockey is the national sport, but they gave me a piece about the size of a hockey puck. definitely not worth the money, even if you figure in the trip to the top and the observation again deck. had a much better meal at the keg the next night for the same price.

fantastic. went to niagara falls this past weekend and had the pleasure of going to skylon tower for dinner. everything was superb. service was wonderful as staff was very patient and accomodating. if you like to eat large portions, this is the place to go. i had the pleasure of ordering the steak with breaded shrimp - along with some of wifes lasagna. in addition to the food, the view was spectacular!!! great place for a unique dining experience.

the high life. prime rib roasted to perfection, my beautiful wife sitting across me, a bottle of dom between us --- and rotating all around, a panoramic view of the moonlit sky, decorated with fireworks while we sit atop the greatest waterfall on earth.

need i say more?

great food, great drinks, great time. i was recently at the skylon tower this past weekend with my family celebrating a milestone birthday for our dad - it was a great time for us all.

food -
the food was amazing; i've never had salmon that good! i could have eaten two more full plates!

drinks -
they have a great wine selection and the martini's were made perfect, every sip was just fantastic!

service -
our wait staff did an amazing job - it was a saturday night and the place was super busy, but we got our table right away. our food came out on time and was still hot! everyone enjoyed their meals. they asked if we were ok and checked up on us frequently. they brought a cake for our dad at the end of the night – which was really nice of them!

overall -
sklyon tower is a definite must. of course it has an amazing view for all to check out - but i was so happy with food and the experience, the view was an added bonus.

thanks,

jc

good view and decent food. and if you eat at the restaurant, it will include the cost to take the elevator up to the observation deck so double bonus. there is also a buffet dining too if you would prefer that.

skylon tower during the day from our hotel room. visiting niagara falls, amanda and i had to splurge one evening to eat at the skylon tower rotating dining room. we knew this was going to be a very expensive meal, but we also knew this was something we had to do at least once for the experience. what better way to experience niagara falls than dining 775 feet above the falls at night time watching them being illuminated by the niagara parks light show. it was quite the sight. mediterranean meal with chicken stacked high. we called ahead to be sure there were gluten free menu options available for amanda. we found out there were not that many, however their menu was not large to begin with. what amanda had that night was the special of the day, a mediterranean style chicken dinner with broccoli and rice on the side. the chicken was actually two chicken breasts, topped up tomato, green pepper, spices, and feta cheese. they did initially mess up the order. but this was not the type of res

over priced... not "fine dining". my fiance and i went there on a date. the tower seems "outdated"- however the view from the rotating dining room was great and there were even fireworks.
i definitely would not consider this restaurant to be "fine dining". the menu was overpriced, boring and plain. the ecor is extremely ugly/outdated. i ordered a 45$ seafood dinner (lobster, shrimp, scallops) and the shrimp and scallops came out breaded/deep-fried... i was confused as to why they would serve breaded seafood for 45$. lobster tail had breadcrumbs on it and was extremely dry. my fiance had a steak and it came with a half a tomato and dry baked potato. we were both very disappointed with our food. after drinks/wine/dinner and dessert we were billed about 250$. it wasnt worth it at all but we cut our losses based on the view. lol
in my opinion it was overpriced, poor quality menu, plain/bland/flavourless/dry food, and overrated.

meh. my ex-fiance and i went here in 2009 and it was novel. the view was great and the novelty wore off after about 30 minutes of rotation.

dining space is incredibly cramped and aisles are so tight, it's a wonder how service staff can get through without tripping over people seated so close to the aisles. seating here does not lend itself to any kind of intimacy and you may be seated behind or beside very loud people.

food prices were ridiculous, like $44 for a pork chop, for example. using the rule of 4, dividing by 4, you get a food cost of $11. can you make a pork chop at home for less than that and still live without having a rotating dining experience. er, yes. yes, you can.

still, the food was great. i had prime rib and it was very good. maybe even better than the keg. the drinks are novel and served in martini glasses shaped like the skylon, with a lid that is shaped like the antenna needle.

come here only if you have lots of money and have a bucket list that includes eating in a revolving place.

memorable evening. this is a must do dining spot in niagara. my husband and i went to celebrate our anniversary and had a perfect evening. the food - particularly the steak - was fantastic, the view was unsurpassable and the service was excellent. while it is expensive it is worth the cost for a splurge night out.

sorry folks, we were sadly disappointed by the poor service. we arrived with a reservation and were seated promptly. 15 minutes later we were still waiting for someone to take our drink order. much later after meeting our 2 servers we were provided with drinks. one of the two servers whole polite was possibly new and missed some essential items ( refilling water glasses and bread basket). incidentally we were told by the other server who was extremely condescending that we would not be served bread until we placed an order! this after 15 minutes to order drinks, another 15 to get them and then 10 more before our order was taken. we were ready to order when we made our drink order but were told "i'll be right back.". yes the view was lovely and the food not bad, but we would not recommend this as a place to visit while in niagara falls. just go to the observation deck and eat later somewhere else.
