small, but charming. orsay provides a greatexperiencefor diners and drinkers alike. it is a bit pricey, but it's definitely worth it for a special occasion. i am a huge fan of their sunday brunch, with a mimosa (of course). the service is incredibly professional, speedy, and attentive. in a cute neighborhood, if dining, i'd suggest the dining room facing park street for the "people watching" it provides. definitely a winner!

orsay is the top restaurant in jacksonville. they have a happy hour from 4-7 for those looking to have a niceexperienceat a slightly lower price. we opted for a cheese plate and oysters. there is nothing on the menu you can wrong with and they offer a wonderful sunday brunch. if you need a special night out, this is the place.

an epicurean delight. orsay is the best culinaryexperiencein jacksonville and, quite frankly, it's not even close. for a special treat not technically on the menu, but always available, try the berkshire pork chop prepared with all of the accoutrements of the pan roasted fish, topped with a fried egg. pair this with a nice wine such as verget corton-charlemagne grand cru '07 (white) or lopez de heredia tondonia gran reserva '94 (red). . .you will thank me later!

always amazing!. i have eaten here for my birthday the past 3 years and have only lived here for a year and a half, that is how much i would recommend it! their brunch is phenomenal, the steak and eggs are my favorite, best hangar steak i have ever had, not to mention just slicing through the perfectly poached egg is anexperienceunto itself. i get the escargot every time i go for dinner. their cocktails are innovative, service impeccable and and overall feel of the restaurant is easily one of the nicest i've experienced. this is a true gem.

can orsay be topped? maybe only by itself!. had dinner last night as part of our 18th anniversary celebration. excellent from top to bottom--food, drinks, atmosphere. mark did an awesome job with his libations. the croque madame was outstanding! everyone in the place helped make it a very special night for us.

brunch and happy hour!. have not yet had a chance to do a full dinner there--but that will change. have had the sunday brunch and a few different happy hours. what else can i say but impeccable. top rate cocktails, wine, oysters, shrimp, tartes flambees--i don't know what all else. the folks there are knowledgeable, skilled, friendly, and attentive. it is pretty much a can't missexperienceif you go.

best diningexperiencein jacksonville. my wife and i met another couple at orsay for a late dinner. the restaurant was their recommendation. absolutely everything was incredible. we went all out ordering cocktails, appetizers, wine, desert, tea and a couple glasses of port. we were thoroughly impressed across the board. we were all very satisfied with the quality of food and service. we will definitely return.

nothing bad to say about orsay.... we were invited out for a friends birthday dinner. we had a large party and they were more then accomidating. i had the croque madame sandwhich which was amazing. one of the best sandwhiches i have ever had and my boyfriend had the steak and frites. a juicy peice of well seasoned steak and tasty fries cooked in duck fat. the atmosphere and food and not to mention the awesome service, all added up to a greatexperienceand we will be going back for sure.

fabulous experience. just wanted to note that i recently visited orsay again and had one of the nicest resto experiences ever. the service was friendly while diligent. while i had only wandered over to have 13 oysters and a glass of wine, the quality of theexperiencemotivated me to stay longer and absorb two dozen apalachicola oysters and sample three different white wines. left me in a fabulous mood for the walk home and the rest of the evening.

a bit of follow-up. just visited ro for another delightful meal and was treated to friendly and attentive service and high-quality foods artfully prepared. i can't think of a more perfect high-end restaurant in the bold new city of the south.

as good as it gets in the bold new city of the south. for jacksonville this is a very good restaurant. by big city standards, it is lacking. on the positive side, the service here is far better than the typical sloppy and informal offerings by most places in jacksonville -- even expensive places. still, you'll occasionally get the "how are you guys?" kind of banter from waiters, which absolutely makes makes me cringe, especially, when a dinner for two is well into triple-digit territory. food seldom disappoints, although mrs. s. points out rightly that they have lousy cuts of meat. (a hanger steak, but no entrecote, for example.)

the place appears to have evolved from its faux french origins, which is a good thing. i have nothing at all against the french (except for dsk and some other creeps), i just don't need pay big bucks to be force fed edith piaf and pink martini, while studying a menu with all the accents aigus going grave and vice versa. it's better to forget about faking it and simply provide good food and good service.

the danger is orsay may go too far in the stateside american direction and become too informal. one thing i really like about dining out in france is that waiters there take the order, bring the food, and then leave you alone. none of that "how's your chicken?"-business every five minutes. (if i have a problem with the food, i'll let you know, thank you.)

on the negative side, noise levels are at time intolerable. pricing is uneven. an order of mussels for $19? i've paid less in new york and washington. as others have pointed out, the wine list is pricy.

jacksonville gets some ny attitude. best restaurantexperiencein jacksonville in a while. great food. great service. great atmosphere. the prices are a bit higher than the brick but totally worth it. the chicken, steak n fries and lobster pie entree are all amazing. i would suggest this to anyone for a first date, birthday, anniversary or any special occasion.

yes, we'll be back. the bullet: food-a,service-a+,price-a,vibe-a. what's not to like, rights? our waiter helped us enjoy theexperienceto the maximum and we followed his lead for the evening. started with the marinated calimari - excellent. the duck was spot on and the lamb shank was terrific and worth the extra wait. the granny smith apple topping set it off perfectly.
