fabulous!. great eats in midtown! the food is consistently good and served in ample amounts. their muffaletta is asandwichbest shared by two folks since it is, in the new orleans tradition, huge! this is a family owned business contributing tax dollars that stay in our community. mobile needs more places like this.

a tasty addition to the mobile bay dining scene!!. i completely disagree with the negative review below. we've visited regina's kitchen multiple times since their recent opening and have been more than pleased each visit. their french dip is amazing!! i can't leave without taking home a pint of their homemade pimento cheese and it disappears quickly in my house. husband loves the chicken salad (i'm not a fan of sweet pickles, so this is more up his alley than mine). pasta salad and potato salad are both delicious and we have a friend who swears by the muffaletta. everything is reasonably priced and if you get the lunch special, it is a steal! they had a meatballsandwichwith fresh mozerella as a special one day and it was to die for. it is very apparent that this is a family owned business where they all chip in to make it a great experience for their customers. if you get the chance, stop by and try it out. i don't think you'll be disappointed. oh and one last tip, their mississippi mud dessert is divine!!

overpriced.....and more. first i wanna say that the name of this place is misleading. when you see the word "kitchen" in a restaurant name, you might think "oh, they serve hearty, plated food". not. they have sandwiches, salads, and soups, which is perfect for lunch or a light meal.

a co-worker and i thought we'd try this place out a few weeks ago since we work in the area, within walking distance. we're also familiar with the location because best of new orleans french market cafe used to be in the same space before they went bankrupt and closed down. regina's kitchen opened on a tuesday and we ordered food that thursday. we called in our order b/c we only get 30 minutes for lunch. so we walk in (the space is not very big, but cozy) and there are people sitting at the tables and chatting, enjoying their food. we go to the counter/register and there are a couple of ladies in front of us, but off to the side, paying for an order. there was a short, old guy behind the register who didn't even acknowledge us as we stood there waiting. no "hello, how are ya'll" or " i'll be right with you" or anything. he finishes their transaction then just looks up at us. my co-worker gives her name and states that we need to pick up a call-in order. he puts our bagged order on the counter and my co-worker hands him her debit card to pay. she put the card in his hand. when he is done with the card he put it on the counter beside the terminal to where she has to reach over and pick it up. very rude, but i guess you had to see it. so as this is happening, the owner comes out of the back carrying a large container. i glance up at her and she is giving us a very nasty look which surprises me. but when she saw that i was looking back at her, she quickly changed her demeanor to try to say something polite. and i'm usually the last one to accuse someone of prejudice or racism, but that look she had on her face is the main reason we haven't been back to this place.

now on to the food, which is the other reason we haven' t been back. we both ordered sandwiches that come with a bag of chips and a skimpy pickle spear. i had a reuben that tasted ok but the bread had been grilled with too much oil. i squeezed a piece of it and oil dripped out. seriously. and the amount of meat was just ok. my order cost 7.50 which seems a bit much for what i got, and by that i mean there are much bettersandwichplaces in mobile that serve better quality sandwiches and sides, and not just sandwiches you can make at home.
