asked for everything on our table. we literally had to ask for everything.. drinks.. straws..menus..utensils (once we got our food).. condiments.. refills..... the only thing the waiter remembered to bring was the bill. i felt like the waiter was confused as to why we were even there. the food was okay. my wife and i split a chicken alfredo which was "so-so".

we would have had a better experience, meal, and cheaper bill if we just went to olive garden

wood smoked wings----wonderful things!. hard to believe that something as simple as a chicken wing can be transformed into such a delight.. i also like the traditional shrimp and grits and i have eaten shrimp and grits from savannah to southport and have found none better. as far as i am concerned, this is the place to eat in florence both for locals and those passing through. my wife and i occasionally use the curbside service as well. we always find our food to be promptly delivered and as delicious as when served in the restaurant.

refreshing food in a relaxing clean friendly atmosphere! well worth the drive! mexican dip a must for appetizer, my fave! great food and prompt service. service has always been fast and experienced friendly wait-staff that was attentive to our needs (refilling drinks and all).

going downhill. food is so-so (certainly not what it used to be) but absolutely stunned by how dirty restaurant appeared. bathrooms were unsightly, dirty and rundown which screams volumes of how the kitchen must be kept. if you don't care what the customers see, how can you possibly care about what we don't see???
it's time to start reinvesting your profits back into the restaurant....food and building. and please, just take a look around with fresh eyes and adequate lighting in the process.

nice atmosphere, very slow service, free ice cream for kids, has separate kid zone, most food is tasteless, however burgers are good, bathrooms are horrendous,

not what is used to be. i still like it just not as much as i used too. seems that over the years the quality of the food has deteriorated. not sure if its me or the restaurant but i'm thinking its the restaurant.

shrimp & grits for example. used to be a very nice dish with the option of having it spicy. portion used to be larger than it is now and the spicy was actually spicy. the toppings with the shrimp were nicely prepared and fresh looking.

now if there is a difference between the spicy and regular i can't detect it. the shrimp are overcooked and the peppers and onions with them are so overcooked they are almost unrecognizable.

i can make better grits at home.

that's a common theme throughout the menu. i think dale needs to pay more attention to the meal preparation.

torn. i used to really like red bone but over the last few years it seems like the quality of the food and skill of preparation has deteriorated. one of my favorites has always been the shrimp & grits but the last time it looked like a totally different dish and it did not taste the same.

its worth a shot just to experience.

salty southern food. the inside of this restaurant is designed to look like a neat alley (thus the name). it's a great place to take your children because it has a play area with ice cream. there's an arcade upstairs and a separate bar. the food is pretty standard american food. they have sandwiches, pasta, bar food, salads, seafood, and meat dishes. their shrimp and grits are great though very salty. there's live music on some nights which can make for a very noisy environment but overall this place is a great place to go.

vegetarian unfriendly. i have been a vegetarian for many years and do not expect everyone to cater to my interests -- especially when i am at a fast food restaurant or at a food wasteland like applebee's. i do expect restaurants with real kitchens and supposedly real chefs to give it a try.

i called red bone back in october and told them that we were coming in and that i just wanted to check that they could pull something together that was vegetarian. the young lady that answered the phone said she didn't think so, so i asked her if she could ask the chef if there was anything they could whip up for an entree that didn't have meat in it. after several minutes, she came back and told me that they don't do vegetarian meals there. (i later learned that they do have a pasta dish on the menu.)

very disappointed.

impressive for florence and beyond!. since my introduction to red bone alley when i first moved to florence 9 years ago, it has been a favorite. i have always found the atmosphere fun and the food delicious! i adore their shrimp and grits as well as their fried green tomatoes!!

i took my parents from greenville, sc there and they were very impressed as well and now make it a priority whenever they visit. on my mom's birthday the waitress went out of her way to have a special fruit plate prepared for her (without our prompting) since she noticed my mom was vegan (doesn't eat meat or dairy) which i thought was really above and beyond.

their curbside takeout is also excellent! nicely packaged and being able to order online is very convenient since you can take your time making selections.

be prepared to pay for all these things though as their meals are on the pricier side of the spectrum.

we heard if was a florence landmark and it was a "don't miss place to eat." well it can be missed. service was very nice but far from being on point. pita chip app with three dips was very odd & the fried pickle app was nothing special. both were a tad greasy. grits were creamy and very well done. ribeye was good. overall, very average. it was a dressed bar with average food. doubt we will return. going out to eat should be more than average and okay. it should be a memorable event. red bone alley is forgettable.

so so. the bullet: food c, service b, price b, vibe a. probably would not return. come for the sit down and enjoy the atmosphere. food was a bit of a disappointment as the sausage/chicken/grits bowl was just fair. the sausage was inedible and the grits, although listed as spicy lacked flavor. the smoked wing appetizer was also only fair although a nice serving size for the price.

too salty to eat. ordered the chicken country gentleman, and it was too salty to eat. the chicken itself was good, but the entire plate was flooded in this gloppy sauce. the sugar snap peas it came with were so mushy and flavorless. my date ordered a black and blue steak, and it was dried out and tough. her salad was so glopped up with cheese and toppings that she didn't hardly touch it.

the staff was very friendly and helpful, the food just wasn't worth it.

get the shirmp & grits. i went here on sunday night when my husband and i were stopping through florence on our way from florida to dc. i went to yelp and saw some really great reviews for redbone alley. it did not disappoint. we sat at in the bar area because we wanted to watch some football and avoid the sound of shrieking children that was coming from the main dining room.
i got the shrimp and grits. it was fabulous. lots of shrimp and great tasting grits. my husband got the salmon and grits. it was good except for the huge glob of cheese they slathered over the piece of salmon. it was gross and completely unnecessary. the flavor of the blackened salmon was perfectly complemented by the grits. so if you order this, i would recommend asking for it without the cheese. they had a great selection of reasonably priced beers, including a great seasonal beer on tap that was called son of a peach. i loved it! we also got the pond cake dessert. it was super-good! nice and buttery and the sauce was fabulous. a must-try!
the one down side about this place was that they allow smoking inside. this totally blew me away. i didn't think that any restaurant in american still allowed smoking in restaurants. this was especially surprising in a place that caters so much to families. it wasn't so smoky that we had to leave, but it was kinda gross. also, be warned that they don't have any special football tv package, so you will probably only get one football game on a sunday. i would highly recommend it and i would definitely go back.
