a first (and last) time customer. my husband and son went to the ram in puyallup (the south hill location). first time visitors, we arrived at 12:20. it was saturday; the restaurant was busy but not packed. our waitress was quite friendly, and the place seemed really cool. weordereddrinks and food. then we sat there. by 1:05 our food had not arrived, although the people who were seated after us had received their orders. our waitress walked by, gave us a nervous glance (no, how are your drinks? no, your food will be up shortly...nothing) we were seated right next to the kitchen, so i was able to observe her as she went over there and talked to one of the cooks. we, however, had to be somewhere. when she finally came over and said our food was "almost ready" we requested our check for our drinks and explained we had to leave. she offered to box our food; we said no, thank you.
as we were leaving someone, possibly a manager, came over, and said that the ticket had been submitted fifteen minutes ago. i replied that the table next us had their food, and they had come in after us. the manager offered to box our food. you know, if i'd wanted to eat food in the car, i would have taken my family to a drive through.
this morning i realized that in all the hurry to leave the restaurant, i'd signed the check but did not get back my credit card. i called the restaurant; the caller confirmed my card was there. i explained that that was just par for the course and gave her a brief synopsis of my family's experience there. i should have saved my breath; i did not get an apology, explanation or any offer of assistance. what i did get was a chirpy, "ok" when i requested she just go ahead and cut up my card. i will order another one from my bank.
what a miserable experience. there are so many cool eating places to explore in puyallup and the area; i don't want anyone else to make the same mistake i did.
