rajwadu. an amazing place to be with your friends or colleagues for a fantastic buffet dinner for about rs. 500.

situated at a location between several residential buildings all around, this place has a complete different and amazing ambience.

from lovely artworks, to the puppet show and traditional dances plus a mehendi artist. you have it all here.

after mingling around all these things, you enter in the dining area. there are several ones, choose accordingly. some of them are proper indian style floor sitting.

the food is served in brass utensils. the food is basically a combination of gujarati and rajashathani. awesome taste.
3 different types of rotlas, several sabjis and salads, authentic makkhan, awesome jalebis, and what not!

one word: amazing

this restaurant is really a worth visiting. it is best from all perspective with a true traditional touch in terms of food & ambience. you get aniceentrance which gives you village-like feeling.  i would recommend visit it during december & if possible then prefer to dine in the evening to get most of this restaurant.  when you enter you experience a traditional clothes shop, pot makers, puppet show running in the way with an amazing village like low lighting.  when you go real inside you find lots and lots of campfires with a super seating arrangement around it where you can seat and wait for your turn to come to enjoy the food.  once your number come, you are being instructed to visit a particular place inside where an awesome seating is provided with a cool traditional type utensils and people in a traditional attire even with a traditional language they serve food to you.  it is must visit restaurant in ahmedabad. cost is a little bit on a higher side, however, the experience you get here is worth the price.

absolutely fabulous.. it's a great green property with tiny lakes , small bridges , stone themed village decor bathed in beautiful yellow light . cots with pillows will be lying around and they have a huge seating capacity of around 170 . the seating is so varied and so spread out , you'll never feel crowded . there is space and privacy .

traditional music and dance is available for entertainment where you'll be served a welcome drink.
from here you can explore and go wherever you want . to the cute puppet show or maybe get some mehendi designs or have your future told by the astrologer.
you can go straight for dinner too .

everything they serve is authentic and delicious. the menu keeps changing .
what i had was
welcome drink
salad platter having cut vegetables , chutneys ( green , garlic , khajur ) athanu , marcha
a dry salad made of dal
four sabzis - bataka raswala , cholafali , ringan dungri and dudhi kofta - tasted fabulous, especially the cholafali had my heart .
three carbs - bajra no rotlo , bhakri , methi thepla . bhakri was authentic and not the biscuit type served elsewhere
this was served with a tub of unsalted butter
two kadhis - rajasthani and gujarati
two sweets - moong no halwo which was amazing and malpua
methi dhokla was perfectly soft and fluffy and well flavored
fried patra tasted great too . i don't like patra but because it was fried it gave anicecrunch to it and made it great
papad - normal and khichiya
khichdi - can be improved was a little bland
anjeer ice cream - was a tad bit boring after such a great meal. it was vanilla ice cream with anjeer pieces

service
it's polite and respectful . they don't disturb you too much which is a blessing. you can eat peacefully and request items as you require.

overall it's a fabulous must visit place especially on a special occasion.

i didn't like three things
1. the entertainment available is great but most of them expect some money to be given . it was a little uncomfortable. i don't mind giving but not everyone would want to .
2. the parrot used by the astrologer. it's down right animal cruelty and the restaurant should not associate itself with such people.
3. malpua can be crispier and taste even better if served with rabdi
peace !

it was one of theniceplace to have gujarati rajasthani food.
traditional rajasthani music,puppet shows, village ambience etc all are very good experience.

but one time i went, the varieties of the food they served was limited...
i was bit disappointed the price 700+ they take for single person is not worth.

nice village theme restaurant serving traditional food of gujrat and rajasthan. different style of seating withnicedecor and live music. desi handvo, mix dal muthiya, lasaniya aloo with bajre ki roti..... relished

delightful place with a great decor. a reallynicemenu and fantastic food with great options for vegetarians. the dal bati was definitely the highlight. the service was impeccable. possibly the best open air traditional restaurant in city. the food here is always a bliss.

rajwadu!! you can say that only name is enough 😛. food quality the best. ambience is so nice,you feel a like that you are in cultural place. the way they maintaining their services nd indian or village culture is reallynicei loved it

very good place to visit for gujarati food lovers.

i had visited month ago with my friends. this is the village thim restaurant. they have nicejholas & a fish pond with small bridge running over it. the ambiance will take away all you stress and hustle bustle of city.besides this place also has a puppet show, fortune teller, music & dance performances.there are a lot of celebrities who have visited this place from politicians to sportsmen to film stars etc. 

in the food there were lots of varieties. you can have ala carte menu all through the day and relax on thr traditional cot. moong dal halwa and aam ras were very delicious. bhindi capsicum mutter and many unique combinations were there.so the entire experience was amazingly unreal.

it's reallyniceretreat.. you step in a time capsule into nostalgia..

and the thali is really tasty and it's really filling.

this place serves gujarati & rajasthani thali. the place is based on village theme & situated in a large open area amdist the city.
they serve unlimited thali having a mixture of rajasthani & gujarati dishes. food is ok. service is fine.
you should go to this place only if you don't have issues with sitting on the floor and eating.
they do have few tall / chair seats but again it's subject to availability.
since there was a function going on we found it difficult to park. after a struggle of 15 mins we got a parking spot.
besides this place also has a puppet show, fortune teller, music & dance performances.
the ambiance isnicewith jholas & a fish pond with small bridge running over it.
despite having coolers & fan it's not a very good idea to visit this place during summers as it's very hot

nice and peaceful ambiance. its anicevillage ambiance and really make you feel like at some ancestral village. enjoyed few local performances, food was equally good. service is also very good.
