rafferty's restaurant & bar

won't return. visited the restaurant twice in the past 3 weeks. sat out on the patio first visit ( although we have been going to rafferty's many years). it took the server 15 minutes to wait on us and ask us for drinks. then took 10 more minutes to get our drinks, the server seemed to be chatting with another table whilke we waited. at that point we dclined to eat, and asked for manager. she was apologetic and gave us 2 free entree cards. i visited again on 5/8/13 about 8:30 pm. again it took 20 minutesd to get 2 drinks in a half seated full restaurant. we ordered, and food took another 20 plus minutes, but forgot my salad. upset at thsi point, i sent the food back and ask for my salad first and ask to see a manager. he came out and i explained our issue, he was not sympathetic but made excuses for the server. he said the bill is on "us". i told him we already had cards for the meals, he said he would take care of everything. we finshed the meals, food is always good, and left . he ran us down and said you didnt pay for your drinks, disgusted i paid and said to never return and will share my disappointed visit with as many future patrons as possible. service and managment needs an overhaul to be successful, i used to work in food industry years ago and waited tables at a raffertys on nicholasville road. the manager , after i complained, took over waiting on our table for some reason,i never saw my server again!!!

decent for both business and pleasure. reasonable prices, good service, great food. beats the logan and apple's#!!

tonight i got the surprise of my life, after more than 30 years of eating and drinking at rafferty's the server shorted me $50,00 bucks, i paid for the check with a $100.00 bill and got change for a $50.00 bill which i did not have in my pocket( $50,00 bill) at the time. i showed them that i had 9 -100 dolor bills and only had 8 left, after 3 times of explaining to the managers what was going on i lost my temper and they asked me to leave or they would call the cops so i left knowing i was right, thank god it only cost me 50 bucks to know this is not the same place i had come to enjoy for over 30 years i know the owners and they are good people that have hired the wrong people to represent them.

first time at lexington, ky location. didn’t care for the sirloin. it was chewy and had a lot of fat. probably won’t go back for a while.

it had been years since i had been to rafferty's and will not be back. normally i am not one to write a bad review but i felt rafferty's needs to know where to improve. service was minimal but i would have been okay with not so good service if the food wasn't horrible for the price. my mother ordered a burger medium well, it was closer to rare maybe medium it had blood running from it and she could not eat it, i ordered chicken tenders which looked more like a kids meal and the chicken had no taste. the fries on both those meals were burnt and cold we did not eat those. my son ordered a sirloin steak well done and it was burnt. i cut it up for him and it was very tough and charred all around the edges were it was burnt.  he was hungry so he ate this but i would have sent it back.  my sons and my meal was $43.00 for the price we could have ate at malone's or a much nicer restaurant. my mother and i ended up going through taco bell after leaving here. we were both very disappointed.  not once did our waitress ever ask us how the food was or come to check on us until we had been done for over 20 minutes.  she did ask if we wanted a box but at this point we just wanted our checks and to go.

where do i begin? service was inconsistent, and was either extremely hyper or rude (throughout dinner, a total of five different employees visited our table, and so it was difficult to determine who our actual waiter/waitress was). for an appetizer, we ordered the queso dip and chips, which should not be a menu item (cold and under-seasoned chips, close to no pico, and a bowl of queso that tasted like it came directly from a jar and with no additional seasoning). for entrees, i ordered the bluegrass special, which consisted of overcooked chicken breast, and a layer of barely melted monterey jack cheese that slid right off the sandwich, and my wife ordered a cheeseburger, medium well, although it was served medium. the highlights of the meal included the fries and the baked sweet potato; however, if you are looking for casual americana, go down the road to cheddar's.

last time my wife and i ate here, it was very good. the cut of beef was a good cut, and cooked to perfection. i also had a sweet potato and salad. for the money the service was right, the food was delicious, and on par for their pricing. we will be coming back, which won't be soon enough.

my daughter said it looked like poop.. sitting in the back is sooooo loud. when my food came my daughter said it looked like poop....tasted awful. we will not be back--ever. my family's food was cold. yuck!

don't sit in the back by the big windows.there were a dozen flies gathering while me and my family ate or at least tried to eat.there should not be flies inside a restaurant.

how on earth can 2 people order the same drink( sweet tea) and one get it and the other one get unsweetened? well they found a way. they would mess up a cheese sandwich.

completely average food. nothing unique or grand. friendly staff and great tvs.

pretty good lunch.... fried mushrooms have a good flavor and crispy texture. i thought the burger was good.. fresh and cooked with wood fire flavor.

i'm one of those who shouldn't eat fries (and i didn't) but tasted them. they were fresh and relatively crisp - 2 things that doesn't necessarily always go together.

all in all, i thought it was pretty decent.

lets start off w who has a hostess with a tongue ring who's speech is altered. when asking such on how long of a wait for 5. hostess became rude. states will with party of 5, it's difficult. if you please sit outside, table is available. it's 95 degrees outside. this wasn't an with my parents. who wants to sit outside on patio in 95 degree weather!!!

typical chain food. there is nothing special about this place but it is not bad. average food at average prices
