prime of your life. the mrs. and i probably qualify as "vacationers" to the ny scene as we now reside in virginia. but don't get me wrong; we grew up here and can bring a great palate to great meals, atmosphere, and overall experience. i would have to rate prime as one of those awesome delights of restaurant experiences. i am surprise by the lack of site activity and some of the negative experience connotations of other patrons. this location came at the insistence of family from the south shore and their recommendation was spot on! a magnificent setting along the harbor of huntington highlighted by the setting sun across the boat moorings. expansive but intimate in setting where one could choose to sit inside, the outside upper deck or the lower cabana deck. we chose the outside deck (a summer 94 degrees at 8pm!) and were well accommodated by the waiter, the floor manager, and the sidestaff(gracious in picture taking). i stared with the lobster bisque (i know - soup in the summer - but i had to do the va - ny seafood comparison) which proved beautiful in consistency and flavor. the ms. had her summer salad which was well received. the main courses consisted of salmon for me and filet for the wife. the salmon was moist, flakey, and drizzled with a wonderful sauce over spinach and leeks. the filet was absolutely huge but cooked to med-rare perfection. it came with three standard side sauces but she stated that the meat was so well prepared; she was not going to add the sides. your side warning, however, comes with a price tag that is not for faint of heart. i think we set our personal high bill without privilege of drink or dessert. flavorful, captivating scenery, pleasant staff, and a romantic, much talked about evening rates this establishment as one of my ny must attends.
