continues to improve with age. i've been back several times since my original review. the salad was better, tomatoes seemed fresher. i've had several wonderful dining experiences here.
after rave reviews in multiple print media around st. louis, it's simply getting hard to find a table, particularly on friday and saturday evenings. while i still love going here, i do hope that with the cold weather coming the owner is able to get a permit for a heated "tent" on the patio.
note to the owners: as this is a neighborhood pizza joint in a proud south city neighborhood, i'd love to see local brews on tap. i get the peroni due to the italian connection, but for instance, there's no reason to go to chicago for their 312 when we have our own microbreweries such as schlafly, o'fallon, six row, the soon-to-open urban chestnut brewery in midtown, etc. which in my opinion carry superior beers.

great new neighborhood pizza place. this is a wonderful new pizza spot nestled on the corner of kingshighway and holly hills ave in the tidy princeton heights neighborhood in south city. the pizza is fresh and delicious, prepared in an open brick oven. the space itself is charming, casual-upscale. there is a small bar and a nice little patio for outdoor dining as well. the pizza shares some similarities with the always-excellentgoodpie in midtown, but pizzeria tivoli is just blocks from my house and in my opinion is just asgoodif not better.
my only suggestion: the tomato/mozzarella salad was good, but could have been exceptional with some better tomatoes. it's not that the tomatoes were bad, but they were simply bland, supermarket-quality tomatoes. tivoli seems to be getting enough business these days (open just a couple of months now and is already packed every time i go on a friday or saturday night) that i'd love to see the chef go to the farmers markets and get some fresher produce for the salads.
