great place, good pizza.. really was pleasantly surprised by this place. usually i'm not a pizza person, however i did enjoy their thin crust margherita pizza, very nice crust. they also make really great coffee, are friendly and efficient. cool place, will be back for more pizza.

great potential. we have been coming to this location of pizzeria prima strada since it opened. we chose it because back then it was not as busy as the cook street location. my son and i visited last friday night. when we arrived one of the servers asked for my name and said there was a wait without volunteering a wait time. i was a little surprised as i saw empty tables but then did notice some other parties waiting. so we waited. fairly quickly two tables of two left. so i thought we would be seated. but we waited. we decided the tables must be reserved. sometime later a waittress comes by and asks if we are waiting for take out. no we said so she directed us to one of the tables. but really it didn't matter where we were as we waited an excessive amount of time for our starters.my impression was that even with three servers being on and the room not quite being full the kitchen and wait staff couldn't handle the number of people. the wine list was extremely lean. the menu as well extremely limited. usually we rely on the specials but that list was fairly sparse as well - just one pizza which had meat which i don't eat. the regular menu seemed to just have a few variations of regular cheese pizza some with meat. the prices seemed very high for what we received although the food was extremely delicious. seems to be another restaurant resting on its laurels.

***this review is for the fort st location***

while i've been to the bridge street location, my most recent ps experience was at my neighbourhood fort st one. my go-to is usually the pizza with squash and broccolini. sadly it looks like they've taken it off the menu - please bring it back!! instead i changed it up and ordered meatballs and my friend got the panini version of it. i believe they're house made and i loved that the tomato sauce it sat on was not tangy. our server was great despite the large friday lunch crowds.

very good pizza though not a lot of toppings. the pizza dough was the best part: very naan like with a wood oven taste. the gelato was also very good .

most amazing pizza i have ever tasted. honestly. i am from out of town and when ever i am i victoria i make a point to go to pizzaria prima strata at least once. just finished a two day trip, i went thee for dinner one day and lunch the next, it's that good! prices are fair for the fresh home made pizza you get. i would highly recommend this place for dinner or a light lunch (of the sharing the pizza). make sure you ask them what is their feature pizza. yesterday was peaches, corn, and bacon all local! so good.

a must eat at restaurant!!. yummmmmm!! we are torontonians, and have a lot of access to neopolotin pizza, but this place rocked! unlike some of our toronto neopolotin pizza places that get crowded with hipsters with a competition for who can yell the loudest to so you participate in a convo, this place was different. it was a diverse age group with no need to yell over the persons table beside you...and the food was still fantastic!! it's in he heart of cook street village where there cute shops and lovely people!! it's also close to beacon hill park which is also a much see in victoria!!

continuing put less ingredients on the pizza pie - what a joke!. i used to love prima strada when it was first opened. great dough, smokey aromas on the crust and delicious toppings. however, over the years they have been constantly dropping the amount of ingredients they put on their pies. our last visit was a joke. such a shame... i am not returning back.

love the food but the staff at this specific location are the worst. group larger than six so they auto gratuity 18% but don't tell you. i had visited the website and was aware so i told the table. the server proceeded to tell me, rudely, that she had told everyone at the table which was a lie she had not told a single person. had a reservation but still had to wait 30 min to get our table and were not thanked for our patience i won't visit this location again.

while we were waiting multiple parties left the resturant upset.

authentic, not your regular pizza's!. although im not personally a fan of tasting burnt pieces on my crust, the parts where it is not burnt are great! the flavor is there, even if it's thin it makes up for what you get on top. the cheeses are local, they brew their own iced tea. (don't go in thinking this iced tea will taste like brisk!) i got to try prosciutto for the first time here, def get it on your pizza! the antipasta will be great to start you off. it is a bit dark in there, taking pictures will be a hassle if you want to save some memories. but it's romantic, smells amazing through the building.

now for some cons! expensive! for what they buy their ingredients and things at - it is a bit marked up. again, the burnt crusts from the hearth-y fire can depend on the person, flimsy pizza is messy to eat with hands but not a big deal its delicious! the service is great for when you walk in, constantly checking on you, and they make sure you know the menu and will answer any question you have. however, near the end of our time we had to wait quite awhile to get someone to pack our leftover pizza and get our bill. we actually had to get up and get someone! slightly irritating, since they were doing so well with checking up on us before.

so few pizza places pay attention to their dough, it's almost always bland and tasteless. so it is with prina strada. thin, limp, tasteless. the sauce is watery and bland, no spices used (?) and the moderately sized pizzas are overpriced.

fantastico. authentic neapolitan pizza - fresh ingredients and a wood fired oven make this the best pizzeria in town.

best pizza. don't come to pizza strada if you have your heart set on the north american version of pizza.....too much cheese, too many toppings and thick chewy crusts. but, if you want to enjoy a more authentic pizza, then this is your place! tasty, authentic thin crust pizza with the appropriate amount of sauce and cheese to allow the flavours of the food to be savoured. i order the margherita pizza with fresh basil, just enough cheese and sauce that is not salty...............excellent! the fresh gelatos make for a perfect palate cleanser after dinner. the wine menu is small but i like that they showcase different local wines that i otherwise might not try. definitely my favourite place for pizza in victoria.
