pizza my heart was founded in 1981 and remains family-owned with many locations in california. i visited their restaurant in the bay street mall in the oakland-area, and it is located towards the south end of this outdoor mall near the movie theater. pizza my heart offers quick pizza-by-the-slice as well as whole pies, plus bread sticks, wings, and salads. i tried two slices of pepperoni and sausage, but they have many more interesting topping combinations if you desire – some of them are even award-winning. i was impressed with the fact that my slices still tasted pretty fresh despite them already having been prepared and then just reheated when iorderedthem. in fact, the crust still managed to be fairly crispy on the outside. another thing that i liked about pizza my heart was that they offered a lot of extra seasonings, such as garlic powder, basil, and olive oil, for you to add to your pizza yourself. in general, i’m not a huge fan of pre-made pizza-by-the-slice, but pizza
