good food, great beer, but freezing cold! not much choice for vegetarians.
two of us shared a piggy platter, which had a generous amount of food and some well-cooked pork belly, meatballs, a cheese souffle and more. for under $20 this made it exceptionally good value (particularly for a touristy area like mt dandenong). you can tell they pride themselves on their beer selection, with several excellent british and australian beers on tap. the decor is nice, with a nice countrypubfeel of stuffed animals and old paintings. this might not sit well for vegetarians - indeed there was little on the menu that would suit vegetarians.
the tavern was cold! we wore thick jumpers, and most folks around us were wearing jackets. if you're the kind of person who loves to come in from a cold mountain forest to a warmpubwith a roaring fire then you would have been sorely disappointed.
