piefection gourmet pies

good pie. good service.. i was in mount gravatt and had heard of piefection. i drove past it and on to mansfield (my destination) then headed back to have ajackdaniels pork pie. it was yummo. now, i normally only eat pies with tomato or bbq sauce so when i eat a pie without added sauce and i like it ..... it's a good pie. my only suggestion would be to add small apple pies to the range.

i had thejackdaniels bbq ribs pie, tasted like i was eating a rib! best pie i ever had! i had it as a pie float and the mashed potatoes were really good but don’t know if i like the pie with mushy peas! would recommend and would go back for more

the only alcohol i consume is when it’s used to marinate meat. thisjackdaniel’s pie was melt in your mouth goodness.

absolutely delicious! we had thejackdaniels bbq pork rib and it was absolutely worth the $. since eating here i think about and crave the pies all the time. i would highly recommend this place to anyone in brisbane.

i love a good pie and i have been known to travel miles in search of a satisfying pie experience. thankfully these guys are just down the road from my house (which could be a bad thing for the belly and the bank balance) and they make excellent pies. the aesthetic of the completed pies is nothing to write home about, but none of that matters when you taste them - my current favourite is thejackdaniels bbq pie. the price points are not cheap but they do offer consistent high quality ingredients and flavours.

chef matt roman's passion for pies is so clear upon visiting piefection. the innovative range of pies here is great. our absolute favs are the lamb shank and rosemary and thejackdaniels pork rib pie omg amazing. we have made the mistake of ordering the animal fries and two pies, don't get us wrong the chips are to die for but it was way too much food haha.

so we popped into piefection on the weekend after saying to ourselves we really need to try these pies out! we've heard tonnes of great things, so we're very keen.

they're located on busy logan road, so it may be hard to find a park, but we noticed a sign afterwards that they have parking around the back, so if you can't find one try that. the store itself is not the most modern stores around, it feels very 1990's like a classic takeaway shop. but we are eating pies after all!

so on to the pies... i tried thejackdaniels bbq pork topped with mash potato and oh. my. god... it was amazing. it's not cheap at $8, but it's well worth it. nice big chunks of meat, beautiful sauce and the pastry is excellent. it was hard to fault!

mrs atetooomuch had the plain beef and whilst it was good, it wasn't as good as mine. we went about 2pm on sunday and they didn't have many left so if you intend to go, do so before lunch so you get a full choice.

oh, and my biggest tip here, is that don't come thirsty... they're drinks are insanely priced. $5 for a 600ml coke? yikes...

awesome pies. best in brisbane easily. the signaturejackdaniels pie is outstanding and the service is always genuine and friendly. stop in for a pie.

matt roman is a genius!  i do not know how he does it, however his ability to balance flavours and textures within the humble meat pie is nothing short of amazing!

literally the best pie i've eaten in my whole life and i've had lots of pies. i had the famousjackdaniel pork pie and it was so juicy, flavoursome and full of generous meat servings! for $7 it was quite pricy, but the flavour was well worth it! 10/10 would recommend

pretty gewwwwd. had thejackdaniels bbq pork rib pie, guinness beef pie, lamb shank and a curry pie all with the peas floaters. all were pretty good however, as good as the floaters were, it softened the pastry and couldn't taste it at all. still good

best pies in the city.. the best pie i've had in brisbane came from a place i've driven past every day, but never really thought was worth checking out. i figured it was just another strip shop bakery. looks can be deceiving.

my choice (thejackdaniels pork pie) was superb, as was the beef pie i purchased on another person's behalf. in both cases, a deliciously moreish crust surrounded the generous and no-nonsense fillings; it's really worth emphasising that the fillings are chunky and of a high quality, unlike anything i've seen in a bakery-style pie.

this place is on my daily route in to work, and i'm seriously concerned i'll be stopping by way too often to buy a pie in advance for work lunches. you need to try this place.

the shop is pretty standard aussie cheapo takeaway. its a straight line to the front counter where there is a glass display of all the goodies, a mounted board with the menu on it and you're flanked by drinks cabinets. what sets this place apart though is the unusual combination of flavours of the pies. not a fan of kids eh? deep golden brown pies! a very large menu some other interesting stuff too! i ordered ajackdaniels bbq pork rib pie! the fancyish box this is honestly one of the best pies i've ever had. it has such a perfectly golden brown crust that was short, flakey and crunchy. the inside had large chunks of tender rib meat that melted in your mouth and a wonderfully well seasoned and flavoursome gravy that needed no extra sauce to round out the flavour.
