good pie. good service.. i was in mount gravatt and had heard of piefection. i drove past it and on to mansfield (my destination) then headed back to have a jack daniels pork pie. it was yummo. now, i normally only eat pies with tomato or bbq sauce so when i eat a pie without added sauce and i like it ..... it's a good pie. my only suggestion would be to add small apple pies to the range.

great pies. worth the extra expense than your run of the mill bakery pie.

overpriced, overrated. pies were luke warm at best. chilli fries had potential, if they weren't frozen chips. never again.

$6.50 each for 'gourmet wagyu beef pies' which contained 3 very small pieces of meat each, 1 piece of gristle and the rest is thickened gravy. won't be back if that's the standard of quality.

mr ana asked whether it was worth returning to piefection. i thought about it. yes, i do think it’s worth returning to if you get a craving for a pie. even just for the chips – because they are worth returning to all on their own

had the jd ribs pie with the potatoe on top. with a side of fries. the pie is overly decadent the pastry is thick filling is thick and sweet. the chips have a funny taste like & look like it’s cooked in dirty oil. comes out oily & dark. very heavy meal.

the only alcohol i consume is when it’s used to marinate meat. this jack daniel’s pie was melt in your mouth goodness.

#kikoscale 9/10
#food #foodie #brisbanefoodie #brisbanefood @piefectionpies
#pies #lunch #jackdaniels @zomatobne @entertainment_au #entertainmentbook_brisbane 👁 8/10 looked and smelt fantastic. will i get in trouble for having a jack daniel’s pie during the day?
.
🗣10/10 down to earth local service. if i wasn’t in a rush, i would have had a nice chat.
.
🧠 9/10. surprisingly flavoursome pie and my favourite mashed peas! so delicious, if only there was a way of keeping the pie crust crispy while enjoying my mash potato and peas on top.
.
💰50% off on the entertainment book, $10 a pie with peas and mash. .
🏞 unassuming shop along the shopping strip, lots of parking around the back.

these pies are awesome, wish there were more places like this in brissy. i had a slow cooked beef bourbon pie it was just so much better than the typical reheated garbage many bakeries are putting out!

just got a sausage roll, coke and a pie for $16. the pastry is terrible, the sausage roll was so light i thought it was going to blow out the car window, the pie was watery gravy and a couple bits of beef.. matt your pies are shit. for a good pie go 5 mins down the road to stone artisan bakers greenslopes.

i'd have given a lower mark if there was one available. this was without doubt, the worst pie i've ever tried. i asked for a chunky beef and the pert reply was 'all our pies are chunky - $6.30 please'.

it had exactly two small pieces of gristle in the pie. no meat at all. two pieces of carrot and possibly a piece of potato. the rest was thickened gravy.

the experience was all the more disappointing because of all the hoopla advertising 'by chef matt roman' - he should be ashamed of himself - and by the long period of time i'd waited before trying this (the wife doesn't care for pies so i had to wait for a solo expedition - and the crappy parking had already put me off a couple of times).

i will definitely never be back, except perhaps to complain and demand my money back. i've had better pies from the supermarket.

if you really want a good pie, go north to stones corner and stones artisan bakery where the wagyu pies are to dream about.

seriously guys, just close the shop if you're going to serve up such rubbish.

had the guinness beef and mushroom pie, and the lamb shank and rosemary pie. i would say i preferred the former because the latter was just a tad too salty with too little meat inside. but overall it was a great start to a day. this little pie store may look unassuming but it's packed with a punch. customer service is really really good so yes, would definitely come back!

i've been trying to get to piefection - either location - for several months. finally made it in today on my way back from the gold coast.

there was a short line, which i took as a good sign at 1:15pm on a sunday afternoon. that said, when it was my turn i was less than inspired by the limited selection available and the state of the remaining pies - they looked nothing like the photos i've seen on zomato and piefection's facebook page...more like they had been in the heating case for several hours.

still, i've been waiting to try them for months, so i wasn't leaving without a couple pies. thus, i ordered the french beef cheek bourguinon with wagyu beef (i had to try the beef cheeks, right?) and the char siu pork belly.

the french beef cheek bourguinon's crust was soggy and couldn't support its own weight. no worries, i have spoons, but the filling was really soft and mushy as well - more like a soft paste. the flavor hinted at what i assume are quality ingredients, but the overall pie was very disappointing. this rated a 2.5 and might have been the only time i've ever fed my dogs beef cheeks.

the char siu pork belly pie that ended up in my box looked quite unappealing. the pie's upper crust had fallen and the red char siu sauce had soaked through it. the pork belly within was quite tender, but the meat was swimming in the char siu sauce, which was really really sweet (this looked and tasted similar to sweet and sour sauce in a chinese restaurant). this too rated a 2.5, but the dogs loved it.

i also grabbed a bottle of grubb bros cold brew coffee with milk. there was something very wrong with this coffee - the best way i can describe it would be 'muddy tasting'. i thought maybe i hadn't shaken it enough, but a little extra shake made it even worse and after lady meatball confirmed my assessment (don't you just love it when your partner asks you to try something to confirm that it is terrible or gone off?) i was left with no other option except to pour this out. this rated a 1, but i acknowledge that piefection only stock this product, not bottle it. i will independently fire off some feedback to them and haven't let this influence my overall rating for piefection.

that said, my overall experience was pretty poor - definitely not pie perfection. i would have liked to try the triple prime beef with mashed potatoes and gravy, but that was not available. based on the lofty ratings from others, i'm sure i'll give them another go at some point, but i'll make sure it is early in the day and i certainly won't go out of my way to return.

pies from piefection are perfection. they look amazing and taste even better. choices are abundant and all very interesting. it was very difficult to pick one over the other, we ended up having three pies at the shop and bought another six frozen ones to bake at home.

we were already impressed with our eat-in picks. after cracking open our take home pack tonight, they completely sealed the deal for our 4.5 score, highest we will ever go. the shop itself is very humble looking with nothing extra from a normal pie shop we are familiar with. but i can guarantee you that piefection's pies are not an average of sort. they are above and beyond. they are extraordinary. fillings combinations were chosen carefully as well as ingredients for the pie itself. for example, honey-baked ham, tomato, and jarlsberg sandwich pie, instead of using thinly sliced ham we all expect, they use thickly cut ham and the cheese was oozing deliciously.

as we explored more and more flavours, we found that each of the pies were packed full with quality ingredients. seasoning was spot on. pastry was flakey and unlike many other pies, i was more than happy to devour the whole thing without leaving any crust behind. we have come to a conclusion that it doesn't matter which pie you choose here, they will all taste great and very indulgent. take your time to enjoy them one by one or you could be like us, save yourselves some trips and buy nine of them at a time. i cannot imagine anyone will be disappointed with their creations.
