great intro to california mexican food. i've eaten at picante twice and have had two excellent experiences! the first time, my wife and i came for dinner to break the fast on yom kippur. it was our first experience eating mexican food in california and it was awesome. the "cafeteria-style" ordering is unique, but the service is great and the food is delicious! the pictures i posted with this review show our order from our visit: salsa fresca and chips, vegetable tamales and enchiladas de la plaza. the enchiladas were so great, and the portions are big enough to takehomesome leftovers! i'd highly recommend this place.
