better get out on time. pretty ridiculous eating with friends at phils tonight and the closing time was 10:30 after we paid our check we were chatting a minute and at 10:37 they turned the lights out thenbackon like a signal for us to leave... i could understand if they had closed at 10:00 but really 7minutes....

better food and service at taco bell. i don't normally write negative comments about places i eat, but my last experience at phil's warrants one. i was there with my wife and her family for a birthday. to make a long story short the service was extremely lacking. as the meals were being brought out to the table the waiter who was carrying a hot plate above our heads spills hot grease in my wifes hair as well down thebackof my shirt. my wife told him about his spill because even though he looked at it when it happened he said nothing to either of us. his response was "my bad, sorry". then continued on as if nothing had happened, never asked if we would like to speak with management or offered my wife anything to help clean the grease out of her hair. the only response were given was after speaking with the manager was that the owner would call us the next day to discuss the issue.


as for the food, i have attempted to eat her a few times now hoping that the previous times were just bad days for the cooks, i happened to order the wrong thing off the menu, or my taste buds were not working correctly. but after this attempt i have to say form now on if i have a craving for mexican food in the huntsville area i will go to taco bell before i go to phil's

great fajitas. went and had lunch for the first time today at phil sandoval's.the fajitas were to die for and the homemade tortillas words cant say.i am gonnabackfor dinner very soon!!!

doesn't live up to the hype.. we went as a group of 8. all different entrees and selections among us. not one of the 8 liked it. we are die hard mexican food lovers and have eaten at some great places across the country. phil's doesn't make my list of places to gobackto. nothing was bad, but nothing was good. average, mediocre, and bland.

started off good. i have eaten at phil sandoval's a couple of times now and my initial meal was wonderful. however, i have beenbacktwice more and each time the food has gotten progressively more bland. i don't know what happened, the mexican butter has remained the same, but the protein portions of the meals are really just lacking in any consistent flavor.

i was reserving my comparison to rosie's until i had sampled a few of the dishes, but now i can honestly say that phil's has failed to meet the mark of rosie's. the one shining star at phil's is definitely the chips and salsa. the chips are light and crisp and the salsa is wonderfully flavorful. other than that, i would say that phil's just isn't as worth the cost. go across the street or head south on the parkway and go to rosie's.

outstanding food and service!!. phil sandoval's has excellent service, and the food is outstanding. i have never had a bad meal there. his chips and salsa are always freshly made, and his fish taco's are the best that i have ever had anywhere in the country. if phil is in the house, he usually stops by your table to see if everything is okay. once you try this restaurant, you will bebackagain and again!

very good!. phil sandoval's has great service, and is not just a "warmed over rosie's".

i'll start by saying my personal tastes are pretty mainstream. the food at phil's is different, yet not wildly so. there's just enough departure to make it interesting, without getting into the realm of 'strange' or 'gourmet', which to me anyway, is a big win.

another place i can give high marks is the service. every time we've been there, the wait staff have gone the extra mile and done a really good job for us. we'll definitely bebackagain soon!
