so good, but spicy. we went as a family and ordered about 8 things. they were all so good, probably the best chinesefoodi've had. but keep in mind many of them are much much spicier than you would ever get at a typical chinese take out joint, so keep that in mind when ordering.

don’t get me wrong, thefoodwas good, but i may have enjoyed it more if we ordered something different. in hindsight i wish that we just asked the server to pick something for us. that will be the game plan the next time we go.

party of three mid saturday. the first meal i've had in a long time where every appetizer (3) and every entre (3) was superb. the prices were reasonable, the service was excellent and the staff made good recommendations. thefoodwas spicy but not evermuch. one of our party was not a big hotfoodfan but still enjoyed the experience. the staff will advise you if you ask. if you like szechuan pepper try the dry fried eggplant appetizer.

it was alright.. my mom, my aunt and i went to peter chang's today for lunch because my aunt said that they have good chinese food. of course it was extremely packed when we went, so we ended up waiting 25 minutes before we were seated.

service was really slow, so we ended up waiting another 30 minutes or so until ourfoodwas ready. i didn't really enjoy my shrimp with lobster sauce that much because the chef put extra spice in my food. i felt like i was constantly drinking water. my aunt requested extra spice in her food, but herfoodwasn't spicy at all.

however, i will definitely go back again and try something else.

very good!.foodis not like typical american chinese, it is much more like chinese food. i noticed that if you are expecting the ordinary kungpao or general tso you will probably be disappointed or wondering where the fuss is. but if you try the more authentic dishes like the chan city chicken or the stews w/ beef /eggplant , they are excellent! very tasty! also korean noodle soup is the best korean in richmond

definitely go...foodis awesome, especially hot spot and bamboo fish

read/heard so helpful reviews about this so wanted to try. we reached there at 8:30 pm and it was getting closed by 9:15 (dunno why they close it this early), so wondering they would even serve us or not. the restaurant was full of people, all the tables and we got to know we came to the right place. i am sure this place is full all the time. glad they gave us a booth.

the ambiance was not that great, it was like some normal restaurant. the server was quick to acknowledge us, took our drink order. my friend told me that if you go there, try bamboo fish and fish of the fillet. i did not find fish of the fillet on the menu, later on, she told me that you have to ask for this. anyway, we ordered

bamboo fish - it was superb, they prepared with herbals and some spices which were great

hot and sour soup - good

spring rolls - good

schezwan chicken hotpot – i really liked this, they serve it with small chimney-type fire which keeps this warm all the time

chicken hunan – superb. my wife really liked this, though beans were bit salty

we enjoyed our time andfoodhere. prices are moderate, not expensive (except few items). would definitely recommend this

this place had been in our go to list ever since we saw it on bizarre foods and we were not disappointed. for first time we ordered the popular things on menu like scallion pancakes and dry fried eggplants both of which were really good and different from the usual chinese starters. for main course we got the duck in stone pot which was very very good. we always appreciate amazingfoodwhen it is not just yummy but also cheap. so extra points for that :) we also tried to make dry fried eggplants at home but we were not successful, its not as easy as it looks :(

we recently found out that there is a peter chang branch near our house and we just can't wait to go back , hopefully it will as good as this one.

came with a group of co-workers based on a recommendation. when approaching the restaurant you may perceive it to be a typical chinese place. however, once inside the atmosphere is quite pleasant. good lighting and happening conversation. the staff is friendly and accommodating. only downfall is that there were long periods between our server coming to our table and "checking in" with us. that is the only reason this place doesn't get a 5. otherwise all of thefoodwas great and satisfying. well worth the visit.

had the hunan chicken and wonton soup. the wonton soup was delicious. the hunan chicken tasted like it had been grilled on a charcoal grill... was it good? sure. was it worth $20? no. i've had equally good chinesefoodfor half the price.

not recommended!. thefoodis good - no question. but not good enough to put up with the unbelievably close tables (packed in like cattle), loud open room, mediocre service and really bad scheduling at the host station. last visit we were told the wait would be 40 - 45 min. after 45 min. we were told (rudely) that it would be another 45 min. at least and we could leave if we wanted. we did! went to lehja for indianfood- got fabulous food, fabulous service, and even though they were full, our table afforded us sufficient room for conversation.
no more peter chang for us! there are too many wonderful restaurants in richmond to settle for this treatment.

over rate. this restaurant is a joke. thefoodis below average and very expensive. the orange chicken is disgusting, no flavor at all, whatsoever. the fried rice is tasteless, they used steam rice and added some soy sauce in, the rice still white color.... i cannot understand why they called it fried rice.

i think thefoodlives up to the hype. arrived friday at 6 pm (eek in short pump) my friend and i did have to wait but it wasn't awful. we brought our own wine (only $8 corkage fee) and chatted until our table was ready. our server was prompt and helpful through out dinner. i'm picky at times and like things non-spicy so here's what we got:

app: scallion bubble pancake and lettuce wraps: i enjoyed both i loved the curry dipping sauce with the pancake which to me seemed like a cross between a typical scallion pancake taste with more of a chip texture because it was thin and fried.. the lettuce wraps (i love pf changs wraps) they had a great flavor it was not a replica, which i'm glad it wasn't, it was similar but we both really enjoyed this version

dinner: i ordered the golden mountain chicken, i consider this a safe bet it was crunchy chicken like general tsos with a tasty sauce ... sorta like sweet and sour, i loved it and my friend got the kung pao seafood and really enjoyed hers as well.. now that i have tried these and seen some of the other tables orders i can't wait to go back and try something else and be a little more adventurous. great place!

amazing food. i literally don't know what to say about peter chang's without resorting to so much overblown hyperbole that one might think this review was done by a total lunatic.

suffice to say: i have never, ever, in my life, tasted chinesefoodthat has been as fantastic as what my wife and i had at peter chang's.

the tea smoked duck with crispy fried onions?

good lord.

my current candidate for my last meal on this planet.

a total revelation. i genuinely feel honored to have eaten mr. chang's food.

andrew zimmern nailed this one on his "bizarre foods" episode featuring virginia. one of the best chefs, and some of the best food, in the world ... right here, in a short pump wal-mart strip mall, of all places.
