kenny our server made a face when i ordered a milk shake so i cancelled.

great food. me and mom go there every thursday to have dinner the food is great and the service is so fast and the staff is so friendly. and the prices are also good.

wow. all i can say. went today for breakfast today and was amazing. people were waiting for a table. i good site in my eyes. says something about this place.

a good family restaurant. quick service and seating, waitress might have seemed a tiny bit grumpy. good prices and alright food. wide variety and a few good original ideas in the menu.

overpriced breakfast, nothing special at.

bad food. i had the chicken biscuits and my wife had the potato pancake thing. both were disappointing enough that i cant imagine going back. the chicken was good but my food just wasnt fresh and the biscuit was dry.

worst food imaginable. my friends and i decided to try perkins for a sunday out just for something different. we all decided on the turkey dinner. our server was a very nice lady who took our order and brought our drinks quickly. the wait for the food was long enough to finish 2 cups of coffee.
a different server brought the food to the table and of course had no clue who got which plate, and she literally threw 2 of them in place on top of the cutlery
i was very hungry, having missed lunch and was really looking forward to a decent meal...what i got was the worst restaurant meal i've ever had in my life!!! watery, tasteless "gravy", horrible turkey loaf, inedible stuffing and cold veggies from a frozen package. i couldn't bring myself to finish and neither could my companions
one of my companions was treating us and i left it up to her whether to pay for this abomination, which she did, unfortunately...i would have sent it back and only paid for the coffee.
do yourself a favour....run from this place. they will never see my butt in there again and that's for sure

it's good. decent priced. good service. great coffee.

sweet & savoury. i love going for brunch...the option between breakfast and lunch is always a good thing. but i hate having to choose between a sweet or savoury dish. i want both on my plate. satisfy me completely rather than just half way.
perkins satisfies both the sweet and the savoury with their new apple muffin french toast plate. you get an apple muffin sliced and fried like french toast (with apple butter), eggs, hashbrowns, and sausage all on one plate. it is absolutely delicious. while it may have taken me a while to get through the whole thing, it completed my meals for the day. seriously...on a lazy sunday i had this meal and did not want for anything else.
next time, i'm trying this yummy looking peanut butter pie.

normally good food however this evening there were bugs in restaurant, in the back room where we sat. managment said they were aware of bugs and we were sat there by mistake. food was cold and to long to get to table. orders were wrong and to fix it they just scrap the food off to make order look new. not a great time at perkins

it is what it is.. standard chain breakfast fare of avarage quality. the chicken fried steak is terrible.

change of menu and other things. when i moved to calgary in 2003 this place has great food. a few years later they removed some popular dishes so they could make a menu change. was funny when i asked for nachos for example and the waitress said they have never sold those before. that just made me want to leave the place. i ordered items off the new menu and it was pretty terrible compared to what they had made in the past. i use to go here at least once a week and after the changes and rude service.. never been back again .. it seems like some of the calgary restaurants dont care for repeat business. i know it was only 40 dollars a week but you would think they would want to keep that money.

like any respectable u.s. chain, portions are gigantic, coming with sides of shredded or chunky hash browns, and fruit, toast, pancakes or their mammoth muffin.

good, family comfort food. perkins specializes in mainstream family dining comfort food - hot breakfasts (all day), chicken, pork chops, burgers, mashed potatoes, gravy and of course pies! nothing fancy, nothing complicated or very exotic - just stuff a lot of people would expect to eat at grandma's house.

the mashed potatoes were real (not from a powdered mix) but the gravies seemed "packaged". they were acceptable nonetheless.

most plates appeared bland and boring but were tasty and consumed with pleasure by most. the taco salad sported a freshly deep fried corn tortilla shell - nice touch!
my pot roast dinner didn't look that promising upon delivery, but the beef was marvelously tender and the gravy, albeit a packaged one, had been augmented with sauteed onions, which really added a nice flavor.

the eggs benedict was reported as only "so-so" and one of the burgers was considered "cheaply made" and a disappointment, considering the price.

we were looking forward to key lime pie we had enjoyed there years back, but it was no longer on the menu (awwwwww)...but the fruit and berry pies some ordered were reported as "excellent.". my banana cream pie was acceptable, but i would have preferred if perkins hadn't drowned it in a chemically tasting chocolate "sauce".

another disappointment was last night's limited selection of pies - the peanut butter pie was off the market due to the recent peanut butter scare in the news (understandable), but they were also out of another staple - chocolate pie - so some of our fellow diners (not liking fruit pies) went without dessert.
