buffet with large gathering. menu was butterchicken, salad, veg spring rolls, chickenlollipop, zeera rice, dal stadia, mutton korma and naan. because of large gathering, the area was conjusted and service was poor. too less space for the gathering. talking about food, only butter chicken, zeera rice, dal, and naan were acceptable in taste. mutton korma, veg spring rolls andchickenlollipop was very poor. the latter item tasted like thechickenwas coated with fish masala and it was not fresh. mutton korma did not taste original, it was a malbari version of this which is not the taste for the dish. the veg spring rolls were cold and stuffed poorly with small proportions. the area, musherib, was very crowded and parking was impossible. valet was full and there was no space to park. approx 30 min to find.

located on 10th floor of grand qatar palace hotel at the back of woqood petrol station near jaidah tower, this restaurant offer iftar dinner buffet mostly indian cuisine. service is friendly, restaurant is clean and it's great value for a dinner or lunch out but ambience is bit dull with lack of ventilation.
the buffet menu has over 25 food items to choose from with a perfect blend of indian vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisines to mention somechicken65, fish curry & mutton rogan josh were good in taste.
even vegeterian starters were awesome. the other mains were just ok, with biriyani being below average taste, as the rice and meat did not mix well with spices.
however, the options tend to be repetitive.
anyway, this place wont spoil your evening.saher chinde

we tried their buffet lunch. buffet was a mix of indian, filipino and few arabic dishes. most of  those dishes are tasty likechickenbiriyani, fish tawa fry, fish curry etc... some others are average like sweet corn soup, butter chicken. the rate  39 qr is quite ok . they didn't charged for my kid of 9 years.

service is not at all satisfactory, it took a lot of time to get a bottle of water.
ambiance is pretty good and valet parking also available.

it was a friday night and i decided to come to the restaurant as they were advertising a 44qr buffet dinner.  it seemed cheaper than most buffets and the fact that it is in a hotel, you would expect it to be quite pricey  - so i had low expectations to start with - but it was something new for me.  i called up well ahead of my arrival to ask firstly if the buffet was still on and secondly if i would need to reserve a table as if was friday night.  the friendly voice at the other end said yes the buffet was on and no i would not need to reserve as it is only for two people.

i turned up to the restaurant before 9pm and the first thing the waiter said to me was, 'sorry sir, no place'.   i obviously showed my annoyance at being told that there would be ample space for me even when i called to reserve a table.  the waiter replied that they had two big parties turn up and they didn't even know.  there was at least one birthday party as i saw many presents being brought in by guests and it was packed.  how could they not know about the parties??

anyway, they had only a couple of tables allocated to walk in guests and i got mine after an hour.  luckily i had a good friend with me so time passed by fairly quickly and helped me work up an appetite.  we were seated and immediately we went to the buffet. i was expecting a mix of north and south indian food along with indo-chinese dishes and that is exactly what i got.

a wide variety of dishes but my favourite was actually the starter ofchickentikka andchickenkebabs.  they were really very tasty.  the gobi manchiurian as a starter was very good too. the few vegetarian dishes were quite nice too.  everything else was average and really nothing special and at times not worth even trying. desserts didn't even look appetising, although their most sought after was their carrot halwa which again was okay.

service from the point of sitting down was fine.  plates were removed in a timely fashion and really that was all the interaction we had with them.  the staff were friendly enough at reception.

i must have been in a good mood this evening as i can't pinpoint any bad points.  the quality of food suited the budget of qr44 and the service was adequate for the type of restaurant.  can't say more than that but i won't be coming back here any time soon especially as it is in an area which i would not necessarily frequent for any other purpose but to come here.
