by feedmedallas september 12, 2011 breakfast brunchdinneritalian mimosas for the past year and half, i have spent almost every saturday at penne pomodoro. $1 mimosas and great service are just two of the specialities at this neighborhood italian restaurant. there is always a lively crowd and the food never disappoints. tim, our favorite waiter, knows exactly what we want as soon as we walk in the door. he immediately brings us our coffee, antipasta (calamari, hummus and salad) and predicts our orders before we even look at the menu. if you are wanting breakfast, lunch or dinner, the options are endless. you can make your own pasta bowl, build your own pizza or pick your own specialized omelet. but don’t forget the off the menu items that are a must order: if you are looking for pasta (get the pink sauce and always get the hummus! penne has some of the best hummus in town with a special blend of garlic and lemon accompanied by the fluffiest pita bread you could possibly imagine.
