this place is the real deal! 😍😎 would never have found this absolute hidden gem of a café on my own! 😁 amazing quality menu and staff with a fantastic view of the hastings pier and waterfront! 🌊 great indoor eating and outdoor lounging area with ample natural light from a smartly designed glass walls 👓

☑ 9/10 for this cuban that packs a damn flavour punch and a half and was brought out in a cuban cigar box! 😎👊🏽 i cant go on without outlining howgoodthe slaw actually is 😲 probably the tastiest slaw dressings ive ever had because of its thai twist! 🔥 this slaw is a must! which brings me to my cuban 😏 tender pieces of slow roasted pork complimented with the sweetness of the pickles 🥒 distinct smokey flavour from the ham with a punchy earthy chipotle spice all brought together with a smooth comté cheese! brilliant taste! 😍 just a tad on the pricey side for a sandwich at $19.5 to be honest 💰 definitely a must try though! 🤗

smart cafe right on the water & dog friendly. coffee was smooth but only luke warm & the green tea was good. i had pancakes (which are big) with lemon curd & crumble - very tasty. my friend had the baked eggs which was agoodsize and delicious. sevice was friendly. would recommend if in hastings.

quick afternoon snack with family on the weekend. we had arancini balls, a couple of serves of fries with aioli plus some locally brewed beer.

the location is lovely with a nice view of westernport bay in a sheltered outdoor seating area. the service was friendly and attentive and the foodgood- though our sample was limited. the arancini balls were particularly delicious, chips well cooked and a generous portion, but the aioli had a strange and slightly unpleasant seasoning.

all in all i recommend a visit, but more for the ambiance than the food!

came here on a beautiful sunday afternoon for brunch. the restaurant is located near the water with a beautiful view. service was quick and the staff were attentive even though the restaurant was busy.

the highlight of the visit was the cuban sandwiches in the box! with a side of spicy salad that had agoodkick to it. it is recommended to make a booking if you are going in a large group as it gets pretty busy on the weekends.

if you happen to be in the area. definitely stop by this great place. its spacious and the staff there are always welcoming. the food tasted amazing. the best thing about this place is the pancake. you need to try it. i would come back just for the pancakes. you can have the pancakes as a meal because it is quite filling. would recommend the fish and chips as well if you are sharing.

come during 11 onwards for less crowd.

always excellent food, coffee and service with one of the best ocean fronts in the area. the miso sprouts option was absolutely insanelygoodand easily the best vegetarian meal i have ever had at a cafe :) 10/10

decided to branch out to my usual suburbia brunch spot i made judgement and went to the mornington peninsula. this cafe is situated in the perfect spot. simply picturesque evident by the beautiful scenic marina right out front the complex. the atmosphere was one memorable sight i experienced today.

a little awkward entry though. after two seperate door signs i finally entered the place with the family. getting greeted by what i think was the boss man, we got the best table in the premises. great view while brunching.

now today i selected something that i rarely order and what a great decision it was. the cured technique was done gracefully to my salmon. pan-fried with utter precision made my crispy skin one highlight today. the over compensating beetroot influence worked swimmingly with the salmon. i absolutely loved everything about this dish.

now the unique egg preparation was actually mouthwatering. the spice consistency was inviting and on point. the included protein shin was impressively touched with different seasoning components. a awe-inspiring smokey dish for all you hearty brunch goers.

my mum and sister got the vegetable alternative and they were in heaven. i had a little snippet of the dish and it was delicious. the broccoli paired with the wild rice and hummus was delightful. chilli and cheese components worked well with the chard and shallots. i was actually surprised how lovely this plate of food was.

chips were not very oily which i foundgoodafter consuming my actually meal. the aioli was not generic, their was some sort of paprika or spice inclusion which basted lusciously with the chips.

with all the above praise the reason i didn't give this establishment a perfect 5 was because of my mocha. it was unbearably burnt and didn't emit any chocolate inside whatsoever. sorry guys i wasn't a fan.

also the table where i was seated with my family was sticky and wasn't cleaned properly.

really enjoy the coffee and fresh creative food here. would've given a higher mark, however late last year, 2016 we stopped going regularly as they have employed a very rude, tall, slender woman as matre de. prior to her arrival all of their staff were lovely, especially the young men and a shorter young woman with braces who was the head waitress... she is amazing! anyway the rude new lady who practically threw menus at us... i even had to ask if she worked there! she told us we could get extra sauce for chips. she failed to tell us she would charge $2.50 for a tiny dollop of sauce. she was rude and acted like we were unreasonable when we complained. she gained $2.50, but lost 2 regulars and agoodreview. get rid of the rude tall woman please. the rest of your staff are amazing!

best rated cafe in the area and i can see why. picturesque view, spacious setting, very friendly service, andgoodfood. i like the touch of chocolate on my cappuccino; the mushroom polenta was not too bad but could be better with some dressing/sauce as it felt dry after a while.

it was a little further out than the other cafes we had looked up on zomato but we were not disappointed! i ordered the usual classic breakfast. eggs were poached to perfection, mushrooms so fragrantly sautéed (a lot of mushrooms too) and bacon was very tasty. coffee was also delicious! the one thing i really really appreciate is the quality and that is why pelikan deserves a high rating. they use fresh,goodquality produce and it really does make a huge difference.

pelikan société is an awesome cafe located at hastings, mornington peninsula. we initially set out to visit a winery in the mornington peninsula, but a quick google search and we were drawn to pelikan société instead. i initially had two concerns about this place, the spelling of the name and the fact i had no idea where hastings was! after visiting twice, i still can’t figure out these two things. we were drawn to the menu, and the pictures of this cafe looked great online. we punched the address into google maps and off we went.

we parked in the car park and the scenery was pretty amazing. clear blue water with small boats parked along the pier. there were people fishing along on the bridge also, with decent success. i don’t consider myself an outdoorsy person, but there was something very calming about this place.

pelikan société had massive windows from top to bottom which allowed us to enjoy this view whilst inside. the cafe was filled with natural light and as a result, the wooden furniture was glowing! it had a really comfortable and relaxing colour theme inside, i particularly liked the contrast with the different coloured chairs. the acoustic panels which they have installed on their ceiling, helped immensely with preventing echoing. we’ve been to a lot of places without the acoustic panels, and it can be really hard to talk without having to yell over one another.

i’ve always had a keen interest with the specials menu of any eatery. the specials allow the chefs to experiment with new dishes and to use great seasonal produce, which i wholeheartedly support. we were rewarded with an exceptional mussels dish from pelikan société! a true highlight for any seafood lover, and one of the best i’ve had. the use of royal gala apples with a cider reduction accentuated the natural sweetness of the mussels. the fresh herbs also balanced out the creaminess of the sauce. this sauce would go well with any seafood dish. the mussels itself were not only fresh, but was also cooked perfectly, still plump and juicy. it’s a shame that we won’t get to eat this dish next time.

“the cuban” sandwich came out in a cuban cigar box, very shnazzy! certainly gets everyone looking and excited as it’s coming out - mobile marketing. tastes asgoodas it looks, the pork belly melts in the mouth, with the dijon sauce and sweet pickles making it a very appetising sandwich indeed! really can’t fault any of the food here, they’ve got the flavours down pat, and they should be very proud of themselves.

i highly recommend pelikan société for any food lover who enjoys a little day trip. you can also visit some nice wineries in the mornington peninsula afterwards as they are not too far away from the cafe. water views plus vineyards all in one day? sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me!

what a nice way to end the morning filled with nearby strawberry picking and a walk along cape schanck. service was great and food was surprisinglygoodconsidering that i hardly choose sandwiches at cafes. the sandwich came in a box which was strange, but quirky in agoodway! overall i really enjoyed my experience here, pop by if you're nearby! the scenery is also very relaxing,goodvibes.

this cafe has been through alot but the most recent update to pelikan societe is by far the best it has ever been. menu is limited but the food was amazing, i had the calamari fritz and i would come back repeatedly to eat that meal.goodcoffee is hard to come by in hastings considering there at 8 cafes but the coffee here sits at number2 on my hastings list. overall pricing is quite high for the area but it is worth it, staff were lovely... would come back.

drove from prahran to spend the afternoon on the peninsula, came across pelikan societe while looking on here and the reviews were spot on.
very friendly staff even while busy, service was great, food came at the right time.
nice choice in back ground music too, not overbearing at all. 
quality of food was outstanding, they have agoodlittle menu.
i had the fish and chips, while the boss had the cuban sandwich, both spot on.
shared a dessert which was the special of the day, if i took my eyes off the ball the boss would have eaten the lot.
