a friend of mine recommended this place, we were running late before they close so we decided to make a call see if we can order before we pop in. really appreciate the staff let us do that and it’s the best decision we made. the fried chicken is great, although a bit heavy handed with the chili mayo. the diamond amongst the many cafes in the strip of shops on the street. overall, we had a great night. great services. definitely will return or recommend my friends when in the neighborhood.

very nice cafe, the services are friendly and the atmosphere is wonderful. the most important is that dishes are delicious. we ordered salted crispy chicken, ginger beef, sausage fired rice and pancake sandwich. the chicken and the sausage rice are our favorite.

i finally tried peko peko after having it recommended by several taiwanese friends and it was as good as they described it. every dish we ordered was delicious, service was friendly and the restaurant had cute decorations. the extra travel time out of the city is definitely worth it.

ordered the chicken fried rice from uber eats and surprisingly really tasty as it was still piping hot and had a nice work charred flavor to it. the chicken was diced and very tender and moist. the bang bang squid flavor was so very unique- not the squid itself as it was bland but the sauce that came with it. wow that sauce was really nice, whatever that was. i've never had that flavor before actually.

the thai milk tea pannacotta is really creamy and rich in thai milk tea flavour but found a hair on top eeek.

it’s amazing ! i’m from taiwan, having been looking for taiwanese food in melbourne for a while and none of them aren’t even close taiwanese food. a friend of mine recommended this place, we were running late before they close so we decided to make a call see if we can order before we pop in. really appreciate the staff let us do that and it’s the best decision we made. popped in the shop and still a few table eating. as soon as we sit down, our food are all on the table ready to eat. we had soup formosa, sausages fried rice, pop chicken and king fried chicken, also taiwan beer. everything is amazing. my partner said it’s the best fried rice ever! i really enjoy the soup as well. it does make me feel home. thanks a lot for the wondering food. totally worth of us to drive 40 mins to get it. absolutely delicious! highly recommend.

the best taiwanese food in the area. forget about parking in the city, go toward south melbourne and enjoy free parking on weekends. then enjoy some taiwanese fusion food, the tranditional fried pop chicken and chicken chop are really good. young kids will love the teriyaki fish (basa fillet no bones) with noodle or rice(additional charges). food are not cheap but of high quality. $16 to $20 for main dishes and around $13 for noodles soup or rice dishes. overall, we had a great night. great services. definitely will return or recommend my friends when in the neighborhood.

great neighbourhood place for a casual meal. the fried chicken is great, although a bit heavy handed with the chilli mayo. the diamond amongst the many cafes in the strip of shops on the street.

the big boss fried chicken ribs are delicious!! as were the pop chicken, crispy honey beef, pork addiction. spring rolls are way too over priced for 3 spring rolls cut in half! the dessert portions are fairly small. thai milk tea pannacotta is really nice!

will definitely come back and try all the other yummy looking items on the menu!

i'm giving this a 5 because i've been to this place a few times and it has never done me wrong. food is always tasty and service is friendly and kind. vibes are great as well because it is usually busy. fortunately my lovely girlfriend and i did not have to wait long (5-10mins). we ordered the ma ma custard fried chicken, singapore noodle and the wasabi mayo prawn. i always get the fried chicken when i am here because it is really good even though my brain tells me it's not good for me. singapore noodles didn't excite me but it was still good. their wasabi mayo prawns are just as good as the chicken. it's just a shame you only get 4 pieces for $12. this is a restaurant that i would come back to........and i have.

thanks for reading.

had dinner last week at peko peko i am
new to melbourne and the reviews were great. i had dinner with my in laws and wife. made a reservation did not have a table reserved for us when we got there and had to wait 25 minuets to be seated. that was just the start small portions, deceiving menu, staff hardly able to speak english, not enough staff and overly rude manger (she look as though she was i control). cherry on top of the cake for us when asked to spilt the bill , the manger she was overly aggressive and come across as she was trying intimidated us. avoid this restaurant at all costs

stopped here for lunch on a saturday and the place was bustling! food came out super quick. would 100% recommend the pop chicken and the taiwan sausage fried rice - we also ordered the pork dumplings which were not the best.
will definitely be back!

a neighbourhood gem! this place is always busy so i recommend you book in advance, but it’s well worth the trouble. the food is simply amazing and homey. we always order the mama’s custard fried chicken (chicken pops with chilli mayo), fried rice and the staff meal (chicken and broccoli scramble, tastes a lot better than it sounds and looks!). also, if you order the beer, get it with a side of sour plums - mind blowing!

small restaurant with a lot to offer. good food but very cramped. dessert is a overpriced. it is somewhere we visit quite frequently. unfortunately, one rude staff is enough to ruin a great dinner experience.

cute taiwanese eatery in the backstreets of south melbourne that do classics like mince pork on rice, but have modern offerings of japanese-taiwanese style desserts and drinks.
*peko sausage - almost like a vietnamese nem nuong, it's sweet, garlicky and moreish.
*mince mince - comforting dish, the pork mince is cooked down with a soy shiitake mushroom stock, to make a thick gravy. sitting on top of rice, it's cut through with pickled greens.
prices are quite reasonable. settle your expectations and you'll enjoy a homely, comforting meal.
