why we will never eat here again. we had eaten here a couple of times in the past and enjoyed their prime rib dinner. a few weeks ago we went there again after church and told the greeter that we wanted the prime rib dinner. we were told that the prime rib dinner was not served until 2 pm. we were hungry so we dined somewhere else. today, easter sunday, we arrived at 2 pm. we had made reservations last week for 2 pm and advised the person we talked to that we wanted the prime rib dinner. we asked for confirmation that that dinner would be available at that time and they said, "yes, the prime rib dinner is served at 2 pm. so, we arrived at 2 pm and we were ushered to a really nice booth in a rear area of the dining room. we were admiring the decor while we waited. and we waited. and we waited. and we waited. we eat out daily and have dined in better restaurants from coast to coast as well as in italy, spain, france, malta, etc. we have come to recognize the good and the bad. we are also very patient and forgiving for the most part. after waiting for 15 minutes without any contact from any wait-person, i went to the reception desk to advise that someone needed to be advised that we were waiting. soon after that our waitress arrived very apologetic explaining that she was "spread thin between the bar and the dining room." we ordered two glasses of wine and advised the waitress that we were there for the prime rib dinner. the waitress then advised us that the prime rib dinner was not available until 3 p.m. we explained that we were told in person and on the phone that it was 2 p.m. not 3 p.m. she said she would check with the kitchen. she was back in a flash from the kitchen saying that the prime rib dinner would not be available until 3 p.m. and the kitchen refused to make an exception to this. i do not like being lied to. i also do not like incompetence. most likely i was not lied to, but, rather, we experienced some really poor management at this paul martin bistro. we decided not to wait for an hour. we got up and left the place as fast as we could. the manager ran out after us, but i did not stop. my wife stopped to listen, but there was no satisfaction or explanation. there was no excuse for this incompetence. as i said, we eat out a lot, order big, and tip heavy. paul martin, though, is off our dining list forever. we left there and went to a well run place called tahoe joe's where we had immediate seating, excellent service, outstanding food, and a memorable time. my message to you is this: if you are thinking at all of going to paulmartin'sfor dinner, don't do it. their mis-management very likely extends throughout the place including the kitchen. instead of going here, go to tahoe joe's instead. bypass the ametuer and eat at a pro's
