we stayed at the place while visiting rishikesh and this was the place where we had our dinners.
the place is beautiful, nestled within the shivalik hills. the breathtaking mountains and flowing ganges provide a sense of serenity.
ambiance of the location is incomparable. and the place is perfect for a romantic getaway and candle lit dinner with live singing :-). an experience that will be remembered for a long time.
pricing wise - the price is on the higher side for the dishes and the quantity. but given the place and services offered the pricing is kind of justified.
the dishes at the place are named after the places that ganges visits/ flows through and the menu comprises of the famous dishes from each of the place respectively.
coming to the food part:
soups:
1. tomato soup: did not leave an impression. seemed a little uncooked to me. the best part were the cut garlic kind of raw that came into the mouth that would lend the much needed flavor to the soup. can be definitely missed. i will rate is as a 2/5
2. lemon coriander: i have had much much better versions of this soup. the lemon had been added so much that the soup had become bitter and i could not taste the coriander that this soup is known for. it was only lemon. the cabbage added was fibrous and not edible. this soup too i would rate it as 2/5
main course:
margarita pizza: safe play. this was thin crust pizza. very tasty perfectly cooked with generous amount of cheese. i rate it as 4/5
garhwali platter: this comprised of dal, rice, pyaaz tamatar ki sabzi, alloo ki sabzi, chutney 1 with salt, jeera, hari mirch and chutney 2 with salt, and red colored (dont know the exact ingredients).
dal and rice were very tasty, the pyaaz-tamatar sabzi lip smacking. the two chutneys with generous amount of salts lended extra flavour to the entire dish.
this dish is a must have.
hirsal platter that comprised of rajma and chawal:
the chillis served with the rajma and rice were amazing. the rajma was average.
ghat ki aloo sabzi: this was standard fare where tamatar ke shorbe ka aloo was served with puri, with hari chutney and tamatar ki meethi chutney. this dish was again average.
overall the place is a must visit for experiencing the ambiance.
