customs house is a great place to dine in brisbane. the food is great and the wine list is prettygoodtoo. best of all, you can dine outside and showcase out great city whilst enjoying a quality meal.

i enjoyed a lovely high tea at customs house on the weekend. the sandwiches were yummy, coffee wasgoodand the sweets were okay. the service was exceptional. i loved the view of the brisbane river while having high tea. stunning!

had lunch withgoodview of brisbane riverside. i love the dinning atmosphere here- so relaxing and casual with attentive and very friendly service. love the calamari entree especially - calamari was soft and the salad was refreshing. great experience and love this place!

my family and i often go out to eat of a weekend and this week we decided to try customs house. we had booked a few days in advance but on the night were running about fifteen minutes late, which the staff were verygoodabout.

we were allocated a table outside and the view was lovely, as was the atmosphere.

the staff -especially our waitress- were very attentive, although maybe a bit too much, but it wasn't a major problem. i did feel as if the table decorations were a bit minimal, but again, it wasn't a big deal.

drinks and entrees were served promptly and enjoyed by all. i had the crispy pork cheek with cauliflower, radish, and watercress. the pork cheek was perfectly cooked, although i thought it was a bit bland. (i've never had pork cheek before, so maybe it's meant to be like that?). the cauliflower was amazing and the radish and watercress went really well with the pork cheek.

there was a bit of a wait for the mains, but i think it was worth it. i had the peppered duck breast with cauliflower puree, mushrooms, broad beans and redcurrant jus, and i thorougly enjoyed it. the duck was cooked beautifully with just the right amount of spice and was amazing mixed with the redcurrant (which i initially thought was pomegranate).

for dessert i ordered the creme brulee with almond biscotti which was, again, very nice. my cousin had the chocolate souffle and could not speak of it highly enough.

i don't have much experience with fine dining as i'd much prefer a burger and fries, but i thought the prices were much too expensive- but maybe i'm just a tight ass?

my only issue was the lack of vegetarian options, although it didn't affect me directly. my cousin had to settle for a bowl of mushrooms, some salad, asparagus, some more asparagus and, you guessed it, even more asparagus. i feel as if there should have been at least one or two vegetarian options on the main menu. as for desserts, there was not a single vegan option.

overall, it was a very enjoyable night with great food and great service.

we didn't book on a friday night and were given a table inside as outside was fully booked. inside was private and the staff were very attentive. the scallops entree were delicious as was the trout carpaccio. very fresh. the mains were duck which was just the right size plate for a main. not small like some restaurants can offer you. the veal scallops were also delicious as a main and the plate size wasgoodtoo. we will eat here again.

i've been to customs house dozens of times for business lunches, dinners and special events while working at uq.  i like to enjoy a drink outside overlooking the river before moving inside for dinner to enjoy the veal scalopine w/ sandcrab, eye fillet, barramundi, pork belly, etc.goodservice, nice wine menu and uq staff get a discount when you show an id or give your business card to the hostess.

this renowned restaurant located inside the heritage customs house. needless to say, you can imagine the ambience is so nice and elegant. had dinner last night there and sat at indoor because it was so windy outside (although there is nice view at the waterfront, it is also hard to enjoy the meals). we were the first table sitting in the nice deco dining area. though, the manager had explained to us that there might be a bit noisy due to a big group of table was coming, i told her that it is alright and she was so nicely welcome us to the corner table for privacy. within three minutes after we ordered, the lovely waitress brought us the entrees of crispy pork belly and smoked quail. the crispy skin of pork belly really attracted lots of marks but there were only two tiny pieces of quail breast which counteracted the marks down. mains of duck breast and sugar cured pork loin gained back most of the marks again, particularly the pork loin was cured perfectly and it was the hero of the night. i have to mention about the side dish of the house made sebago chips, which were done with crispy skins and perfectly matched with the well prepared aioli. well done. overall service was professional and proficient, certainly is agooddining option not to be missed.

an excellent night - great service. had a wonderful night at customs house to watch riverfire - which was a special function but done by the normal restaurant staff.
plenty of drinks -goodquality wine though a very very limited range (probably my only complaint) - tasty canapés. fantastic vantage point for the fireworks - then dinner.
dinner was great. thankfully not alternate drop or anything like that. a limited range of selections for the function but plenty of choice. notable friendly, very experienced and capable staff.

fabulous all round. as a young couple workiong in hospitality ourselves, my boyfriend and i lovegoodand just as importantlygoodservice. customs house for us was a bit of leap from our usual trendy places but we gave it a go and loved it ! the waiter, a young french woman, was not over bearing but did everything she needed to ensure we were happy. the food was on time and more importnantly delicious. the duck and lamb shank were the two meals chosen and the flavour was just wonderful. very thoroughly enjoyed our night and would like to go back in summer to sit outside by the water.

good standard. visited customs house today with my mum as a mid-week trip for something to do. i really enjoyed my meal (of veal scallopine), mum found hers a little over flavoured but nice (spatchcock). the dessert was excellent. i'd go back but i wouldn't go out of my way to. the service was good, though i felt like i was being served by people pretending to be fancy. it was a little odd - but they were very nice.goodselection of wines and i thought they had an excellent menu. for the price it was agoodstandard, but nothing i would rave about.

seriouslygoodfood, nice wine list, great service, amazing views and classy without being pretentious. what else can i say? choose the veal!
