the ambiance of this place is superb because it was designed well, with a marked absence of kitsch. it's cozy, yet chic and functional all at once. there are many books on food, the environment, and culture on display, to read and purchase, some by local authors. the heaping trays of colorful vegetarian food is awe inspiring, and the concept is simple. you get a large rectangular plate, and you serve yourself what you want, buffet style, and then pay a fixed price for the plate (not all you can eat) -however- (you can pay individually for items as well).
i tried almost every single thing offered, and the diverse array of dishes were perfectly cooked and seasoned...what a sublime example of vegetarian cooking. if everyone tried this food, they may never miss meat...ever. i can't wait to eat here again ;)
