brought the family down on fathers day. despite the entire inside being empty and 75% of the street tables empty there was a 25 min wait as they explained they were understaffed. ok. got a table and went to order drinks ... tried to order a flight .. was told "sorry, not serving flights today as they are understaffed." thats the attraction of going to a brewery. ok. ordered 3 fries and 1 wings. after 1hr still don't have food. checked with staff if they forgot it. nope, "we are just understaffed in the kitchen." very dissapointed.

prettysis was in town to visit with the kiddos and she had been cycling around my parent’s part of town for cool places to eat.  one of these places was the parallel 49 brewing street kitchen, and she quickly made a date with me and the rest of the family to have lunch there. the parallel 49 brewing street kitchen is located on triumph street deep within an industrial area.  it has a very airy open concept.  you order your food and beer at the counter, take a seat, and they bring the food from the food truck kitchen within the complex to you.

fantastic beer selection, great patio, very cool flight design, tasty food but steep price for very small portions. i'll be back for the beer but i'll eat elsewhere.

lemon meringue donut, as well as the sour donut. i would rate the lemon meringue donut a 4/5: very refreshing and rich. the sour donut would be a 2/5, because i had very high expectations. (my daughters review.)

td were in town for their thanksgiving holiday, and after their hospitality while we were in toronto, h and i had to take them around town. we decided to drop by parallel 49 for some beer, but little did we know, they had actually renovated with a full food truck inside the warehouse, so we had a truffle poutine to share. is it just me or does beer make everything taste better?

one-liner: classic bar eats that pair well but the standout is the brunch feature which in this case was a blueberry eggo sandwich
highlight: blueberry eggo sandwich
price per person: $16-25
would i go back? yes.

check out my blog post for the full review!

the renovated space is less industrial and feels more like a restaurant. i'm not a fan of the communal tables. i'd probably only go when i know it's not busy so i don't have to deal with people sitting on top of me. the beer list is good and the food is good but the portions are too small for what you pay.

i wasn’t gonna do a blog post about parallel 49 brewing company‘s new street kitchen, but another website posted their article on it today (the one with the effusive hyperbole), so hey, fair game, right?. long story short: ambitious menu, perhaps a bit too complicated for the crowd, great service, servings too small, prices too high.

we came here before they closed for renovation. they had great beer, great canadians around and great funky hipster interior design that fitted the environment in east vancouver.

we came here many times. if we came earlier in the evening, there were always seats and tables but if we came here later at night, oh man! it could be packed and we had to wait in line.

we look forward to going here again once they have finished renovation. we look forward to seeing their new look and of course enjoy their beer!

not to be confused with 49th and parallel, parallel 49 is a brewery tucked away in a corner of vancouver. although the neighborhood looked pretty shady and deserted from the outside, as soon as we stepped inside, i was taken aback by the lively interiors, the cute halloween themed decor everywhere, and extremely friendly service.
now already being a fan of their gypsy tears, i wanted to see what else was good. they had a pretty wide selection that day. i chose gypsy tears, pumpkin chocolate porter, a lemony one and salty scot. the porter was dark, thick, very nice. the lemony beer was so refreshing, it was like having slightly alcoholic lemonade. i tried jerkface and schadenfreude too, from my friend, and quite liked them. also, how do they have the cheapest beer of anywhere in the city?! $4 flights and $3 glasses? whaaaaa!
on the cons side, they didn't have much to eat. we settled for a warm pretzel.

last thursday, parallel 49 brewing celebrated their 4th anniversary with a fiesta party along with the launch of their newest beer. we were invited to join the fun!. the anniversary was celebrated in style with sombrero hats, tacos, beer and live music. we were able to sample some of their top beers, including the craft lager which won gold in the category of north american premium style lager for their craft lager. brewed by graham with, head brewer at parallel 49 brewing company, the craft lager is a light lager brewed with malted barley and local sterling hops grown at satori cedar ranch in chilliwack, bc.

not the best decor, not even average, real bad decor; but the beers are good and the beers are very cheap! i come here all the time and am always sure to include it on brewery tours in the neighborhood. there are usually good food trucks parked outside as well.

i used to live 5 blocks from this place! it's definitely one of my favourite tap rooms in all of bc! they have a new infusion beer every single day, and they've always got a couple of beers that are delicious, all year round!

the staff are all friendly, and knowledgeable :) highly recommended! just don't drink the milk stout if you're lactose intolerant... it doesn't end well, haha.

cheers!!

service is okay. the atmosphere is crappy - but that's a part of its appeal. then there's the beer. so good! so cheap! if i lived any nearer i'd've drunk myself to death by now!

these guys have great beer, and the prices at the tasting room are the lowest i have seen. the room is nice and bustling, and they have good food trucks outside too.
