paper fig desserts

i can’t stop raving about this cafe. i have been here quite a few times already and there has not been a single order that was below my expectations. from pastas to sandwiches to breakfast items to their signature desserts and drinks, they serve it all and they do it well! a must try item would be the classic milk cake. even their signature creation, the extraordinary blossom feast, was amazing!

ordered pasta and 3 cheese sandwich.. both really yummy.
the orange juice was quite sour but nice ñ fresh.

took away brownies n they were just amazing. awesome ambience n great experience overall. . just that the prices are bit steep.

if you haven’t yet heard of paper fig desserts in sharjah, then you are either living under a rock or…well my mom said if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all… so i stop right here!. i fell in love with this cute cafe the moment i stepped inside. this not so little cafe, located near the university city in sharjah, is the brainchild of an emirati husband and wife duo nawal alnuaimi and ahmed almazrouei. they have really nailed their vision into reality.

everyone should try the french toast for breakfast, really worth the money with good and effective service. also have dishes with nitrogen ice as a show which adds a really good presentation to the dish.

it’s been 6 months since i last went to paper fig. and to this very day i have yet to find a single place that has been able to top their lemon chicken dish. that was by far the most delicious meal i have ever tried in the uae. absolutely loved it.

the pf french toast one of their signature dish, it's a soaked brioche bread ; absolutely delicious and perfect!

a very pleasant cafe & a hidden gem indeed.

the portions were really good for sharing. we got 1 starter, 1 main and 1 salad and it was delicious!

starters: we got the cheese balls. most customers were getting the halloumi fries, which is what we will try next time. the balls were lovely and cheesy for all you cheese lovers! save some space for your mains though because it’s a generous portion for a starter.

salad: beets and quinoa salad. so many different veggies made it the perfect salad. this is a must for all you salad lovers!

main: penna pasta with pink sauce and shrimps. perfectly made.

the atmosphere was really nice and the food was fantastic!! will definitely be going back to try more on the menu...or have the same meal all over again! :)

firstly their ambience is so cute! secondly i ordered only desert, i ordered their date pudding and it was expensive for the amount they served. taste wise i have had much better :)

amzing place and ambience around would love to sit over and the dessert was amazing the cost is 80dhs it's better to have 4 friends with you with whom you can finish the whole dessert

the ambience was nice, staff amazing but food not so great. i ordered eggs your way, scrambled eggs with bacon, very basic and soggy eggs. we also ordered egg benedict, the hollandaise sauce had too much of mayo. coffee was good but the highlight of our morning was the desert which took a good 10 mins but worth it it's called the sweet retreat it made a mess like it left a pool if water on our table but that's okay because the desert made up for it, the chocolate mousse had layers ..crispy layers which was yummy.

we will come back for the desert and because of rue our server :)

what an absolute hidden gem in a bustling area of sharjah, the university city. for the longest time, residents of this area had nowhere (other than matajer) to sit with a friend for some coffee and dessert. thank you to the owner who addressed a need and conceptualized this lovely coffee shop.

the interior of this place is very warm and welcoming: blonde and white wood furniture with quirky lamps hanging by the wire. and, not to mention the chalk board menu at the counter.

my friend and i ordered freshly brewed café lattes, waffles and the most popular menu item; the date pudding. the waffles were a little dry but it didn't compromise on the taste.
the date pudding was a soft cake on top of caramel sauce surrounded by nuts, topped off with vanilla ice-cream. it had the unique sweetness that dates have. i was unable to finish it after the waffles!

we sat for nearly 3 hours at this cosy venture. would come here again.

ps: the designated parking for pf customers was the icing on the cake!

update: my second visit was a short (but sweet) one. i had some brewed tea and raspberry pistachio cake. so fluffy and full of natural vanilla specks! must try!

i'm rating it 5 out of 5 for the food. every dish is amazingly presented and very creativez best dish i tried and loved is the lemon chicken with coconut rice, both have perfect seasoning and flavors and go really well together. the chicken tenders and fries are not like any other normal nuggets and fries, something about them made them look very yummy and fresh. loved the french toast as well.

i've been here several times over the past few months. i feel like the coffee is hit or miss but the other day i got the poached chicken on toast for a bite after work and it was even better than i expected. the balance between the coriander and greek yogurt was so refreshing and you can opt for a healthier version by asking for whole wheat bread!
i love that they have toast options which are perfect for brunch/late lunch!
