papa nalu aloha grill

fantastic family-owned hawaiian goodness. we were staying on pcb and saw reviews for the papa nalualohagrill in gulf breeze. we had to try it out. i have to say that we were more than a little skeptical pulling into the strip mall where it is located. (not bad, mind you, just not giving extraordinary promise.)

listen, don't let the outside fool you. this place is great. they offer call ahead seating, although we didn't need it. papa cooks. mom and daughter(s) serve. cool atmosphere and excellent food. the portions were good and the taste was excellent. my wife had the "fall off the bone" ribs... which were just as they were described. i had the kealoha which also was fantastic. the kids also enjoyed their meals very much.

ok, to top everything off... the price was very reasonable. actually, when reading that before that also added to my concern about the place. nope.

this place is great - definitely worth your drive out.

great first visit. ended up tryingalohagrill after the bridge was closed and we were unable to get to pensacola for dinner. had a table outside which was nice (even though your view is 98...) and we ordered some of the hawaiian beers they offer. we liked them all and had the sampler appetizer to start. it was pretty small for the price, but we did enjoy everything on there, especially the shrimp. most of our group got the saturday special - the hawaiian burger, which was very good. we had a few of the other plates and rice bowls which were also good - but one of the gals with us was previously stationed in hawaii for quite some time and said the slaw was definitely not authentic. regardless, we had fantastic service and good food. my father collects beer labels and the owner was kind enough to take our bottles back, wash them and bag them up to take home. we'll certainly come back.

excellent mahi mahi tacos! this was great food, excellent service, and clean. i've been to hawaii at least 20 times and the only thing missing here werealohadresses andalohashirts. i will be back next time i'm back on pensacola beach.

great food. i finally tried thealohagrill after driving by daily for a few months. i was pleasantly surprised by how delicious, healthy and affordable the food was. this will be one of my favorites from now on.

best fish tacos. i travel for a living - internationally andalohagrill has got to have some of the best fish tacos i have ever had. they blacken the fish so it is not so salty (which most restaurants tend to do), the fish is tender & flavorful andalohagrill has perfected the art of making perfect sweet potato fries. if tacos aren't your thing, their grouper sandwich is unbelievable & can easily be enough for 2 people to share. building your own salads or bowls are just as wonderful. service at the peak times can be a bit challenging but understand your meal is being cooked to order and not sitting under some heat lamp - worth the wait!

delicious!. we stopped at thealohagrill on our last night in pensacola beach and it was excellent! the ahi tuna appetizer was fantastic! my husband and i shared the blackened mahi mahi fish taco and a fried shrimp wrap which were great! we were glad we found this gem of a place too bad it is 1200 miles away from where we live!

great wraps!. my wife and i ate here about a year ago, ordered a couple of "hawaiian bowls," but weren't extremely impressed. it wasn't bad food but was just kind of bland. needless to say, we didn't go back for awhile (we lived in milton, so it would have been a 50 minute drive just to eat there). we decided to try it again in april and were disappointed that we hadn't given it another chance earlier! this time we ate thealohawraps and they were awesome! they each had a really unique and delicious combination of flavors.

amazing food, amazing service. thealohaplatter was delicious! definitely order this if you are a first timer. even my two kids, who are picky eaters enjoyed the food and atmosphere. if i lived closer, i would be a regular! try the musubi!
