what's not to love, old school vibe, well thought out decor, lovely waitresses dressed for the period, and lovely food at decent value. i love thecocktailstoo. always a highlight of an evening out. best thing about this place ? late hours when everyone is suffering from lock outs.

this basement bar is a little gem. overwhelmed by its vibes and nice atmosphere when we came here on the saturday night. nicecocktailsand drinks menu. the bar food selection could be better (and the taste). but definitely worth a visit in sydney. will definitely come back.

beautiful bar but it was absolutely packed which was not particularly appealing. there are plenty of really amazing bars in the city which are not this crowded, but bustling enough to give off good vibes. palmer & co. are open til later than other places which may be one of the reasons as to why they are so busy.

took forever to get drinks, tried somecocktailswhich i can’t remember the names of now, but they weren’t really to my taste. probably some of the stronger ones.

they also have live music which was quite nice! but it was all playing in such a small space, and you don’t really get to see or enjoy much of it over the chatter of people.

palmer & co is a speakeasy 1920s themed bar in the cbd. when you make your way down the alley and into this bar everything just fits! settle in, order a cocktail and get lost in another world. drinks i recommend include the manhattan cooler and the apothecary - a gin, cherry and lavender cocktail. be warned you will not get much change from $20 so you make only want to drop in here for one or two. there are bar snacks on offer - my tip is to grab a cheese and charcuterie board and sit back and sipcocktailswhilst you watch the 1920s roar on.

the basement bar felt like it was built inside a cave, there was no windows or doors that led into daylight whatsoever.  in such as small and confined space, noise has nowhere to go and therefore is quite noisy. the most frustrating part was it took almost 30 minutes to order 2cocktailswhen it was very busy; to make matter worse, there was no mobile signal downstairs so you didn't know where your friend was and how long it would take to get the drinks. there was table service but hard to get the staff attention or too noisy to hear them.  from the queuing, the noise, to the long delay in ordering drinks, it made the night out in the venue hard work rather than relaxing.

what a hip little bar in the underground building of establishment. the minute you walk in you're greeted with friendly bearded waiters and bar tenders. they had a jazz band playing which really set the mood.cocktailswere great and about $20 a pop - the standard these days. go here with a group of friends on a friday or saturday night, they have a late night food menu :)

best cocktail bar in sydney. it's like stepping into a different century. located underground, it's set to make you feel like you are in the prohibition era, and the waitstaff dress the part well.

drinks are pricey, but thecocktailsare made with great care, detail and precision.

awesome prohibition styled saloon in the heart of the city. the bar itself is beautiful - you really feel like you have travelled back to the 20s. thecocktailsare tasty, if a little overpriced , and the service is friendly and knowledgable . perfect spot for an after work drink/ great for groups. can get busy , try get there early if you can!

a wonderfully decorated and whimsical prohibition bar located at the back of the establishment and mr wong's. the strawberry hills (marios pick) and baltimore buzzcocktailswere decadent and delicious. the warm german pretzel with ale and cheese fondue was the perfect accompaniment. too loud to hear anyone though but great service.

great food and cocktails. didn’t really have any idea what this place was like until we arrived, it got good ratings on reviews so though we’d stop in here on a saturday night, it was really busy but we managed to get a table. loved the theme of prohibition and the live music which was on was great.
there was table service in the area we were in but that was a bit hit and miss and took a while to order some food. once the food did arrive it was really good, very tasty and plenty of meat on the charcuterie!
cocktails were very popular and after having some you could see why!
excellent food andcocktailsbut table service a bit poor though would definitely return

thecocktailswere delicious, and there was a pleasing variety to choose from, with standard prices around $16. quite a small selection of wine, but you don’t come here for wine. the place specialises in spirits, with pages and pages of rums, gins, whiskeys, vodkas and more. the menu itself was very impressive, and made for an entertaining read, full of old pictures and anecdotes.

you enter another world when you go down these stairs to the justin hemmes version of small. and you can go down or stay day later at palmer & co than at most other cbd joints. here, “until late” means just that. while you’ve got to take your hat off to merivale for the curiosities - the step forward into flapper, bowties, old-fashioned glasses and the retake on a prohibition theme - the cocktail list is the hit. (who’s watching now?) the daily cocktail specials are often served prohibition style in teacups. classiccocktailsare a good bet when they are made with premium spirits. the list of spirits (gins, tequilas, whiskies) is worth a look just on its own. there’s beer or wine if you must. be warned: it can get pretty busy. and that can mean queues.
