sometimes you can't justify the price. we've been a to palisades a few times now and the last few visits have been not so much about the food and more about the atmosphere and the location. we end up there inevitably because of view of the sound and the dock, but the food has been a bit of a downer the last couple of times. we ordered the palisade's ocean tower and the lobster and the meat in both of them tasted just too bland and ordinary. the oysters were flavorful along with a good mix of the sauce but the lobsters didn't seem to be prepared well. especially for the high price you pay for them it seemed like a waste of money.

great ambience. palisade is one of those places to go to for special occasions. right from the valet parking, reception, seating andservicemakes you feel special. the oysters on the palisade’s ocean tower were the best.

nice mid-afternoon visit ... door hostesses (women in this case) were of the “we will almost ignore you, if it is okay,” caliber.
but bartender was right there, on, and helpful.
should do something about the invisible hostess clan (all huddled together), management. maybe add a few males to the “group.” perhaps that would break it up a bit for the benefit of your customers. a-1serviceis actually a "thing." read up on it folks at the door.

theserviceand food was amazing. i am in disbelief about any negative review about this place. if you inform them of a special occasion they make it know when u arrive. the food is incredible better than anything i've had in awhile. i assumed it was a place where special occasions took place because of goodserviceand quality food but the way that everything is prepared is the reason in itself.

palisades sucks period!. we have been going here for probably 10 straight years. however, last nights dinner sucked period. the menu, service, bar staff and entire experience was a complete joke. you could not pay me to go back. my poor parents spent $400.00 on dinner for 6 and not one of our meals were even half way decent. i called up to complain after i left and spoke with some idiotic manager name adam who was about as clueless as the entire staff there, not to mention was trying to say that he wouldnt' refund my parent their money. we askd for table 6 and had made the reservation almost a year in advance, they stick us at the busiest table possible with every darn waiter walker right behind my dad. their salads are a pos! my steak at $43.00 was sat upon a few potatoes and some pieces of squah, wtf? come on! my wife said she would have rather gone to applebee's instead. my brother and his wife said the exact samething, this place has gone way down hill. i am serious, you could not pay me to go back there! the dessert menu sucked as well, their dinner salads are a joke, they couldn't get my wifes order right, our waiters dissappeared for 25 minutes after we got our dessert, he was clueless. the bar waitress worked in slow motion. absolutely this place is not the place to go, do yourself a big favor, go somewhere else fast, there's absolutely no value here as they appear to have no skills on customerservicenor any ability to good a good meal. i asked to speak to the gm and told adam the so called manager that this place sucks, a complete rip off and waste of time and money for food that was not appealing all. the fact that 6 out of 6 dinners sucked should tell you to cross this place off your list. in summary, palisades is a pos place and not worthly of being any better than your local mcdonald. well, that might be too big of a compliment. go somewhere else where their staff is trained and they know how to cook their food and have a decent menu. i won't be back, even if you paid me or my family, it was that bad!

awesome. on a seven week holiday in the us where we ate out every day, this was one of the best meals we had. in fact, it rates as one of my top five meals ever.

theservicewas excellent, the waitress was very friendly and chatty and knowledgeable. the decor is great (we had a window table, which helped!). the food is certainly pricy, but very tasty and i really enjoyed a meal here.

definitely give it a go - it's 'impress your date' material for sure.

awful hostess staff that is ridiculous- 48 minute wait for a confirmed reservation even though the table has a ridiculous amount of open yet dirty tables that are not cleaned up. buffet was bland and sad- this place has gone down from years past. the only good thing about this place is the view. the food andserviceand hostess staff were that of a nightmare experience.

super delicious and reasonably priced lunch. the crab salad was so good.serviceis incredible, the views, of course, are beautiful.

amazing valentines day dinner!. my boyfriend and i had our v day dinner here this year. i had only been here once years ago, i believe for the same occasion with another and remembered theserviceand food being exceptional. we made reservations for this a month in advance due to the overwhelming crowds on this holiday. i called the day before to confirm our reservation and the woman also noted to me that they would still try to get us a window seat as we had originally requested. it was nice to know they took the request seriously and brought it up without my asking.

we arrived about 30 minutes early and were greeted by several staff members at the door waiting to serve us. they had some openings and offered to seat us early and we accepted. we had the pleasure of being served by jacob who was one of the most outstanding servers i have ever met. he was very knowledgable in regards to wines and all meals and the ingredients in them. he made sure to let us know he was there to serve us and would accomodate anything we needed/wanted and he was very attentive during the entire evening. he was very nice, funny and upbeat. hisservicedefinitely added to the evening.

the food however was amazing! we had the valentines special which was butter poached lobster with grilled beef tenderloin. the lobster was some of the best i have ever had. we also shared the crab cake appetizer and it too was some of the best i've ever had. i also found the prices to be quite reasonable for the food, given i have ate at other restaraunts that charged a bit more for poorer quality food.

overall this was a wonderful experience and i most certainly plan on returning! thank you palisade for providing a great v day experience for us!! we will be back soon!

bad service. i made reservations for my wife's birthday for 4pm to make sure we sat next to the window. when we arrived, the hostess made us wait 4-5 minutes while she worked on the computer. we don't know what she was doing, but it must have been more important than two customers waiting to be seated. when they finally escorted us to our table, it was next to a big post. my wife asked for the table next to the table they took us to and the young lady said she had to ask. there were only two partys, us and another couple in the entire place of about 120 tables? anyway, they made us wait another 4-5 minutes when my wife was finally through with the terrible service. we left the restaurant and ended up a mccormick and schmicks. the food andservicewas excellent at mc cormick and schmicks.

chowder was cold. steak was over-cooked.servicewas fair. view is the best in the emerald city.

don't waste your time with those other seafood places. for a nice meal out, this is our go-to restaurant. fresh, high quality seafood prepared just right, nicely crafted cocktails, and theserviceis always impeccable. and the view on a nice evening, wow. not cheap, but palisade truly is a fine example of you-get-what-you-pay-for.

great birthday dinner, very patient staff!. a group of 10 of us went here for my birthday dinner last august with two guests from out of town. (miami) we had a wonderful night, great food, and lovely views. we were not the easiest (drunk) group to serve, and i was very impressed with the patience andservicewe received. my scallops and crab cakes were very good, the steaks were good as well but i don't know if they were worth the prices. you definitely pay for the view andservicehere!
the ponds/waterfalls inside were lovely as well. next time, though, i would rather go with just my husband than some rowdy out-of-towners!

sunday brunch. family in town? take 'em to palisade for brunch. it's always the same, but it's always good and always way too much to eat! serviceis spotty and one time when i went for lunch we actually had to hunt down a waiter (any waiter!) to take our order and again to get our check. they are super accommodating for babies though, and that always goes a long way in my book.

dante's inferno. been to palisade many times over the years. sometimesservicecan be hit or miss. last night (7/11/07) was most assuredly as miss. took fiancé for her b'day @ 7pm and low and behold no a/c in the place. outside temp 90+ f. inside was approx 82f. did not give much thought to the heat as we entered as you cannot really expect the entryway to be that cool given the outside temp. once seated, it became apparent that the ac was non existent. i inquired to our waiter about the ac and he claimed he did not know there was a problem. this was definitely going to require some tequila as i am not fond of being played for a fool. we ordered, food was good, that is never really a problem at palisade. i spoke with a busser on the way to the restroom and made the same inquiry about the situation and the reply was that they were not aware of the problem. hmm let's see, employees working in an establishment that is consistently 68f every day of the year and the do not even perceive a problem. i am not a big fan of employee ignorance so i am a tad bewildered at this point. upon exiting the restroom, i asked the hostess why am i feeling like i am having stroke or hot flashes. at this point, i am feeling restored in humanity as she informed me the ac had not been working all day. although pleasant, she did seem like she was being asked this all evening and offered to get the manager. my reply was no need and that i could write the owner at a later date. the manager did come to the table and make apologies and asked for some "human understanding". i smiled without comment and we continued to finish dinner. what a mess of a place!
