i am a bruncher. it is by far, my most favorite meal of all time. and i had one of the best brunches of my life this past weekend at pago. it wasn’t my first brunch there, but something about this experience was different. because i have never written about pago (why have i never written about pago!?!?), let me tell you a few things about it. pago is a wonderful farm to table restaurant located in the 9th and 9th district of salt lake city – a lovely little corner of town that is home to manygreatlocal businesses and restaurants. the space was built in 1910 and uses reclaimed wooden tables, which makes it feel old world, but modern at the same time. pago is also very green and sustainable – in both its building and its food. pago uses products from local farms and artisans – and you can really taste that freshness. pago has an inviting atmosphere and salt lake city locals have embraced it whole-heatedly. scott evans, owner and operator, has been in the slc restaurant industry for yea

greedily, i want to write a bad review.... ...so i can dine at pago without a two week advance reservation. while that is still possible, pago is a black diamond in the city that always sleeps (slc). it is a rare jewel. i recently had lunch at pago and the experience was so extraordinary, i can't get pago out of my mind. the owner was there to insure that our experience was flawless, which it was.greatforethought went into their selection of quality ingredients , dynamic and skillful preparation, and pleasing presentation. also hit pago early for a spectacular bloody mary.

fun and good. went to pago for my belated birthday lunch. the atmosphere and service were good. people cared. the food was well prepared. the best thing i had was probably the calamari salad - very tender, greatflavors - the bruschetta, wagyu burger and risotto were all good but nothing to blow you away. the cucumber crush cocktail was very refreshing. overall i had a very good experience. but not amazing.

my friends had been before and we weren’t disappointed. good range of wines beers and cocktails. my friend was also offered to try the wines when she couldn’t decide.

servers knowledge of how things could be made gluten free or vegetarian wasgreatand all the main courses tasty and different.

i had the chocolate dessert which i didn’t think was very chocolatey.

good but notgreatfor vegetarians. we went after several recommendations. i knew from the online menu that it wouldn't be straight forward for us but i thought we could make a meal from the small plates. the cheese plate was great, though i could see the small amounts of many things being an issues for parties of four or more. on a closer read if the menu it turns out most of the small plates that look vegetarian are not. our excellent waiter recommended the off menu vegetarian plate. it was made up of sides to various main dishes. the good news is we both loved two of the items and we each loved ones the other didn't. but it was still 50/50 overall for us. the bourbon apple crisp was delicious. the atmosphere was a touch loud but ascetically nice. the wait staff were attentive and helpful. i would consider going back and trying again from just the small plates so i got to choose what i get. i liked it, but certainly didn't love it.

good truffle fries and burger even though my burger was a bit overcooked and i could have done without the citrus sauce on it.greatambiance; small, so get a reservation. good service. the bass ball appetizer isn't worth the price, and they need a full-bodied red wine on the 'wines by the glass' list. i will return.

great dining experience. the food wasgreatand service outstanding. the only complaint i have is that the menu showed a small plate menu. i had assumed that this would be a tapas style. however, it was just an appetizer menu. however, we still ordered like it was a true small plate menu and we weren't disappointed. very well presented and very tasty. (we tried all 10.)

ok food. the service wasgreatbut some of the food was a little strange. they try too hard to make some of the plates work.
the pumpkin tar tar was not good and the bbq beets were not anything special. my steak was good and the hamburger was good. we all agreed that their fries were the best part of the dinner.
we had agreatnight still but will not head back until we work down our restaurant list.

stillgreatfood! loved the gravlox and the dirty risotto. shy away from their signature cocktails. they are still a little harsh and not refined enough. we will keep going back this place is always changing it up and usinggreatlocal ingredients!

poor service; overpriced. went here for an anniversary on a friend's recommendation. won't be going back. the steak was alright, nothing fabulous, and the gnocchi was portioned in too large of pieces. however, the sauce the gnocchi was in was really good, as was the jus on the steak.greatsauces on medicore entrees. it was around $100 to get out without any alcohol. wait service was slow and the place was packed.

very disappointing. after hearing about howgreatpago is for what seems like forever, we decided to celebrate 2 birthdays there. the service was great, but of the 5 people in our party, only one really like their meal. the market salad had absolutely no flavor and that's pretty much how the whole meal went. i tasted 4 dishes and none of which were memorable. it seems like they relied too heavily on the flavors of the ingredients really complimenting each other, but none of the entrees we had really came together. the meats had no seasoning and their accompaniments didn't stand out enough to really highlight the flavors. we had to ask for salt and used a lot of it. the salmon came with some really nice spring veggies and a nice lighter sauce, but again, the fish was just so so. the pork had a chimicurri sauce that really sparkled for the first few bites, then seemed to disappear. the white asparagus and scapes were limp and overcooked. the duck w/polenta & cherries had a good sauce, but again, not enough to really flavor the food (i saw a few other plates of duck that looked a little raw). the one entree that was a hit was the moroccan chicken, a sweet fritter type chicken.
overall, i really wish we'd have gone somewhere else, the banana bread pudding and the wine were delicious and our server was knowledgeable and helpful, but it just wasn't worth it.
