don't ask me about the food, because i never got any. recently, i have heard good things about pacific rim. we visited them just after they had opened and, quite frankly, they had kitchen and service problems to iron out. we decided we would give them some time to iron out the kinks and try them again. so, i tried them for lunch. the place was somewhere between 25-35% full. i walked to the screened area which had a couple of people at four other tables. the waitress was taking orders from a table, went over to a second table to take orders and went to the kitchen. she came back, delivered food and went to the kitchen, she camebackwith drinks, made eye contact with me and delivered the drinks... this went on a couple of more times. then she came over to me and asked what i wanted to drink. i asked for a glass of water and a menu. she wentbackto the kitchen and camebackwith some food for another table. she then came to the table next to me, took their order, picked up their menus and wentbackto the kitchen. i looked over at the lady sitting at the table next to me; she shrugged her shoulders, laughed and said, what do you expect, this is merritt island. we are now getting close to 15 minutes and no menu and no drink. the waitress camebackwith more food for a table, looked at me and said, oh, your drink. she left again. i was running out of time and got up to leave, i passed her... she still had no drink or menu for me. sigh. i hear the food is good here, but i wouldn't know. this place seems to do a good business and i certainly like their menu (although, i had to see it online, because i never actually got one at the restaurant). i guess the people of merritt island either don't know what good service is or have completely given up on trying to get it. too bad.
