really overpriced for what they're serving... if you want a fun atmosphere with better food and service, go down the street to superior.... you might even make it out of there cheaper!!

how does this place stay in buisness. 1st try ok so i tried this place once for lunch, service was horrible, and the food was poor quality. my burger was cold and dry.

2nd try couple months later a friend insisted on going for drinks after a movie. well you really can't mess up a beer, oh wait sure you can if you serve it rudely and charge to much.

3rd try. my wife graduated nursing school and after her final test most of the students agreed to meet here. i swear the worst french fries i have ever ever!!!!!!!! had in my life. service for once was ok but everything else was just so so. in fact there were 16 of us together and almost everyone complained about something. officially done with this place

somewhat over priced, but the food has always been good. the patio and interior both have a lively atmosphere and makes it a fun hangout for many locals.

the main selling point of this place is the atmosphere. it is a fun and energetic place to have some drinks and food on the weekend especially during lsu games. try the oysters on the half shell dressed with their salsa!

we had a fun visit here several weeks ago.
jg score of 4.5/10 from us this visit (+2 for food, +0.5 for atmosphere, 0 for price, 0 for no diet dr pepper, 0 for typical service and +2 for we would love to go back)
first of all, you get chips and hot sauce as an appetizer at this oyster bar! that was great; it helps to fill you up if you only get oysters like we did because they don't fill you up. good salty chips and good hot sauce....now, we tried a lot of the oysters. our favorite were the danny's parmesan oysters followed second by the mesquite grilled. we would get these over again. the danny's parmesan oysters were described as lightly breaded then fried and baked with parmesan....they were tasty. the mesquite grilled were just as tasty and described as being basted with lemon garlic butter and light seasoning then grilled....very nice. we also tried the angels which were fried oysters with pepper jack cheese then wrapped with bacon and mesquite grilled= these all sound great but really just tasted like bacon balls. last were the bbq oysters= mesquite grilled with loud and spicy bbq sauce and tabasco= the bbq taste was too overwhelming. that was how we ranked the types we got....we also got some oysters on the half shell too.
the atmosphere is good, kinda close knit with tables and ocean decorations and a big fish tank down the middle and with mounted tvs all around.
obviously, the price will easily be over $15 with oysters.
no diet dr pepper, only diet coke.
the service was typical and friendly.
we could easily go back here again.

interesting place that's a bit schizophrenic. the name would imply a seafood place, it is, sort of. they also feature grilled items. if it stopped there i might see the vision but throw in tex-mex and you kinda loose me. the tex-mex side could go away and i'd raise my vote, the last thing the area needs is more mediocre mexican food. the grilled food showed a lot of potential but everything i've ordered has been over-cooked and dry. the seafood again is on the right path but needs tweaking. the exception being the mesquite grilled oysters, they are perfect the way they are and the main reason i return.
service has been just ok, good enough i wouldn't complain, not good enough to commend.
not my favorite atmosphere, very bar-like, loud and crowded.
with so many good places nearby i would tend to write of the oyster bar but those mesquite grilled oysters won't let me.

we used to eat here at least once a week.   then we slowed down to a couple times a month as the food was either tasteless or laden with oil.  seems  they had no grill pans to saute veggies so if you got them they were laden with oil so as to grill them on whatever.  finally we dropped to every few months because the food just went down and down except for a couple or three items.

well we did go recently.  seems (said our server) the owner upped the drink prices to almost double.  why?  because we were told, he felt they were in a high end dining district and he knew they were getting higher prices for their drinks and he wanted to "meet" his competition.  ah so--.

got news for him, he is not fine dining though all his prices have gone way up.  that i expect as they do that everywhere.  but to double mixed drink prices without white linens and napkins and proper glassware.  well, that did it.  if we ever go again to get one of the two or three items that are good, we will not have drinks.  this is a dive.  old, dirty, looks nasty.  tables jammed together, tv blaring all the time.  no, not fine dining.  like an old, dirty corner bar where the servers do the cooking.  no chef!  unreal.  we are pretty well done and his business will do the drop and it will show soon.

the man needs to wake up and get his head out of the sand.  he serves crown and coke out of root beer mugs for gosh sakes.  and no martini glasses or large or decent olives.  just because the fine dining is all around you does not mean you are that.    well good luck, but i think it is downhill from here.  take heed folks, ask how much a drink is before you order anything, but water   a shame, but the place had been going down for years and i would say this will be the nail on the coffin.  again, good luck because you will need it.  you got nothing else.

not good!. we were there 2 weeks ago and it was fairly good, at least something different to try. so we decided to give it another try today, bad idea. we ordered a dozen raw oysters, and the parmesan garlic shrimp. i think the waitress was actually embarrassed when she brought out the oysters. they were the size of a dime, no joke, they were the smallest, tiniest oysters i've ever seen. i think the waitress was totally embarrassed cause she said we gave you a few extra. the shrimp was terrible, floating in butter with some kind of cheese, that had coagulated into a glob of inedible glue. bad, bad, bad.
