what a dining experience. this bar is unlike any other. the cocktail menu features no ingredients and only informs you of the flavours you will experience when tasting their cocktails. we decided to have the cocktail tasting which includes a food pairing off their snack menu. we would definitely recommend making this place a top priority on your list of go to food places, especially if you're looking to try something new or impress someone with an awesome night out! the service was wonderful and we could see the knowledge, care and love each person working their has for what they are doing.

they don't have a menu as the food and cocktails change seasonally but all the cocktails are between r60-r90 and the snacks are between r25-r50. pop in for a quick drink before a meal or make a night of their tasting menu but don't forget to book as the bar only seats around 24 people.

words do not do justice to how great this place is. a truly unique experience wherein every preconceived notion is challenged, simply incredible.

short of the rather silly introduction on the street-side, it's a fantastic concept. a completely cocktail exclusive space. it's not something we are familiar with, but quite exciting to try.

the drinks are massively complicated. perhaps a little lost on me... guess i'm more of a food and wine guy.

can appreciate the effort though.

it's great to see that the craft of bartending and fine drinking is being elevated to this level in cape town. the drinks are definitely an experience. the cocktail menu focuses on flavours rather than brands which makes for interesting selection. it's not gonna be a regular spot but everyone needs to try it out at least once.

so out of the blue we decided to check this secret little place out. its kind of rad that you can't just walk in. a bouncer calls a lady down who then let's you know if theres space or if they can call you back later.
the cocktails are pretty gastronimic. i had the chocolate pinotage which tasted like liquid chocolate. the place is super pricey but worth a pass if you're feeeling adventurous.

cape town's newest bar, next to house of machines in shortmarket street. this place is probably the most exceptional bar in the cbd. high end yet without being pretentious. a sit down space for only 20 pax at a time. there aren't any branded bottles visible, cocktails are outstanding.
bartender luke wearty of operation dagger in singapore has teamed up with the house of machines team to open this tiny cutting edge bar, next to the house of machines at 88 shortmarket street. they will be offering bold, exciting cocktails made with top-notch ingredients.
