mr. mak. food tasted poorserviceso bad i will not come

sushi was good. everything else was terrible. i'm on the fence about going back.... we unfortunately decided to go here for a birthday on a saturday evening around 6:00. i only ordered sushi rolls while everyone else in my party ordered the hibachi dinner. my gf sushi was very good. however, theservicewas terrible. we only had about 3 min to look at the menu before the server came around to take our orders. i ordered a vodka sprite that came completely watered down. the server refilled my boyfriend's half filled glass of sprite with water and didn't come back so he could order a new sprite.
the chef sprayed that faux sake stuff all over my new dress. i was not a huge fan of getting food thrown at me either. we weren't even half way done eating before the server gave us our checks. and, on top of that, i received a huge freezer burned green tea ice cream sundae. it was absolutely disgusting. :-(

i felt that they want you in and want you out. very rushed. if i go back, it will only be for the sushi and i will sit in the bar/restaurant part. i'm pretty bummed out that this experience was so bad because i was very excited to go here.

don't wear anything nice here and stay away from the green tea ice cream. you've been warned.

open late!. a friend and i ran in late one evening looking for some warm sake and great sushi. the sushi side was almost empty so we had no wait in getting down to our food choices. theservicewas a little off putting at first. most places to eat around town have a warm greeter and friendly waiter that will do their best to chat things up with you. not here. they were very to the point and rushing from one side of the place to the other.
however, we where also rushing to get food with an hour left till closing. the sushi was simple (not slathered in sauces) and refreshing. my doubts about theirserviceturned when our food was done and it was closing time.
we wanted to finish off with a little warm sake before going out into the cold and the server behind the bar had no worries in staying a little late to let us relax a little. everyone was very kind and quietly cleaned up around us as we drank and joked around a little. everyone was smiling and did not rush us at all.
overall, i would definitely go again. the food was great and the space is comfortable. :)

new born. i have been to this restaurant about 5-6 times usually have a ok timeserviceusually sucks its like we as customers are troubling them for taking up there time. the last time it was for my birthday. my fiance just had our baby 3 days ago and she had been craving sushi so i when to order some to go sushi i actually ordered a boat of sushi and sashimi i spent $66.00 $61.00 for the food and 5.00 for a tip i usually tip 20% but it was a to go order. i ran to the store came back and the food was ready the host had told me that my food was ready and the manager lady and said the same. she told me that there was soup and salad in the bag while the bag was stapled numberous times thought nothing of it until i got home soy sauce and salad forks, hince soup and salad. if you think your funny you should have done it to someone else and my fiance had not had any sushi for 9 months and loves the meso soup and salad needless to say there in a sushi place that everyone has been talkin about off of haines road here we come. i will never eat here again never!!! try your funny jokes on someone else

finally went for the first time and was immediately impressed when i walked in. the decor and atmosphere are a perfect blend of simplicity, with elegance and taste. theservicewas swift and attentive, as well as friendly. i admit, the prices were a little steep, but you get quality and quantity for the price you pay. the food was delicious, and presented with artful flair. i will definitely be coming back!!

when you want exotic when in duluth. i've been eating at osaka, monthly, since they've opened. i really enjoy their sushi, and i have eaten sushi in some great restaurants acorss the country. i prefer sitting at the sushi bar for fastserviceand to chat with the chef and see what fun things he recommends. i've always had great quality here.

when we go to the hibachi side (usually with friends/family for a special event), we always have fun and get good food. we only get the filet mignon or shrimp, because it's not much more expensive and is guaranteed a delicious and tender cut of steak. i love how they squirt saki into your mouth across the grill -- i especially love it when you get uptight looking women and grandpa's to loosen up and play along. they come in with a frown and leave laughing and smiling.

i prefer the ambience of osaka over the other sushi places. it's more intimate and less noisey. also like that it is more convenient to get to and park.

we've always had greatservicehere. i must follow up and say that we usually only go on sunday or weekday nights. we just know we will get better tables &serviceat any restaurant.

plagiarized review posted here abt osaka. i notice that one of the good reviews of osaka by "mak" was obviously plagiarized, and is a review of hanabi written by melissa swor. i notice the only review written by "mak" concern osaka and hanabi. this makes me think that this "mak" is associated with osaka, and makes me think less of the people who work there. i've been there a few times, i liked it, but it's not even in the same league as hanabi, in terms of the cuisine and the service. hanabi's food andserviceis world-class, while osaka is a suburban japanese steakhouse. there's room for both in duluth -- but let's not play dirty, and steal reviews from other restaurants and repost them here, ok, osaka fans?

i like it. pretty good sushi and have not been able to find better in the area. theserviceat osaka sushi hibachi steak house has been the bestservicein town as of late. unfortunately my cooking skills are limited so i eat out 6-7 times a week. normally i voice my opinion by which restaurants i frequent and how i tip. however, theserviceand food quality at hanabi has consistently (over 20 visits) been top quality. i am amazed at the comments listed about the servers. they sound like petty and personal attacks against the very same waitress i specifically request. the staff has helped me to create a fabulous spicy crab sushi dish and a pineapple dessert that are not on the menu but remain mine and my guests favorites. the owners are low key and humble yet prove every week their commitment to perfection. when a mistake is made, they go out of their way to fix it and deserve high praise. the staff works very hard to please even the most difficult customers. i strongly recommend this restaurant

very disappointed :(. made reservations for a friends 30th birthday here. 10 of the 12 guests were drove up from the cities and upon our arrival, they had no record of the reservation. they would not let us speak with a manager and had terrible customerserviceas they told us there was nothing they could do, they were booked.

i've only had lunch here, but three food was phenomenal, theservicewas great, and the price was reasonable. for $14, i had two rolls and a few pieces of sashimi, along with miso soup and a salad. not bad at all. i can't wait to come back and check out the hibachi for dinner.
