terrific - and huge - cheeseburger, delivered exactly medium rare, with great "char-grilled" flavor. friendly service and comfortable booths; we'll be back.

1st brunch at open flame. my husband and i we're looking for a good brunch and thought we'd try open flame......i'd been wanting to for a while. upon arrival we we're told it would be 20-30 minutes.... totally acceptable at 10:30 on a sunday. the hostesses we're 3 teenage girls who didn't really know what they we're doing. they we're handing out the little light up things (what are they called!?). about 10 minutes into our wait a couple who came after us was seated (no they did not have reservations)......15 minutes into our wait one of the girls proceeded to ask all of the guests waiting what ours we're number on our light up thingy.......they somehow didn't write down everyone's number. onto wait staff.....ryan, our server was wonderful. very attentive but not too much. everything was served in a timely manner as well. i got the corned beef hash skillet and it came with pancakes. the hash was less than mediocre. bad texture and dry. the pancakes on the other hand was the best i'd ever had..........fluffy buttery and served with plenty of butter and warm syrup. final thought? i'd come again and make a reservation and choose a different menu option.

yum. we love coming to this place. they have the best food and their balsamic vinaigrette salad dressing is the best! good service, good food with a variety of choices!

not a fan...poor service, waited 10 minutes for server to come over

went here with family that came from out of town and we ordered three appetizers and our dinners. it was amazing! the priceses were reasonable as well. i was a little confused about the rotesery going with no meat on it. i was also hoping for bar-b-q as the name open flame sounds like they might have some. overall, i would go back but not make it a favorite destination

will be back. stopped in for happy hour and glad we did. great happy hour drink prices and the staff were very friendly. had the artichoke and spinach dip and it was excellent.
wasn't sure what to expect before we arrived, but the décor, drinks, service, food and atmosphere were all really good.
looking forward to going back!

great restaurant. if you are looking for a great meal/relaxing decor and affordable pricing this is a must try. the staff is always nice and everyone is always very happy. i try and come at least once a month. not to offten as i don't want to get sick of it. but when i come they always have new special and the wine list is perfect as i love me some wine!!!

had the filet mignon. cooked to my specification and tasty. enjoyed myself and would not object to a repeat visit.

i love this place! the patio is one of the best i've ever been to in milwaukee. service is always perfect! they have specials every day that compare to high end restaurant for half the price! plus you can't beat $2.50 happy hour drinks and free food in the bar " that i bring outside". i try and stop by a few times a week. great food, great staff.

great food, with great service!. i visit this restaurant often with friends & family. great selection of food items, never have been disappointed. service is always improving, and the atmosphere is nice!! must check it out!!

terrible restaurant. have eaten here on a few occasions and every time seems to have been worse than the last. food is dry and tastes like it was prepared weeks before and reheated. service is poor and the management is unfriendly and unprofessional. plainly put this restaurant sucks and you shouldn't waste your time. i will never return.

horrible experience. my husband, my parents and i went to open flame to have dinner. i ordered a filet mignon for $27.99. my steak was horrible and tasted more like liver than steak and left a horrible taste in my mouth. i even had my husband verify that it tasted poorly. they asked if i wanted something else instead so i just ordered a gyro plate since my family was already done with their meal. when we received the check, there was the steak for $27.99. we questioned the waiter, he didn't know what to do, so we asked for the manager. she told us that it was their policy that you have to pay for the steak -- even if they are poorly done! she also told us that they tasted it and it was fine. i had only had a bite or two, so i wasn't about to pay for it. i told her that we won't be paying any bill until this is removed. so, instead they charged me for every little detail individually like the potato and the salad. and, that was after they consulted the owner. well, we left and, unfortunately for the waiter, he received absolutely no tip whatsoever. as i walked out, i proceeded to tell the manager to be certain to give the waiter a tip from her own pocket because i would not be giving any. the manager was rude and unprofessional. the chef is a very poor one if he thought that steak tasted alright. and, obviously, for a policy to be in place like that where you pay for food you did not get, they must have had more than one return. do not bother with this place- it is not worth the money and has terrible service.

excellent meal and service. we tried open flame via a livingsocial coupon. i had the ribs and chicken, with seafood gumbo soup as a starter. my wife had the scallops with zinfandel reduction sauce and green beans, with lobster bisque soup as a starter. everything was absolutely delicious. i also had a bloody mary and my wife had an iced tea. bill game to $45. krystal, our server, was very cheerful, attentive and efficient. atmosphere is wonderful - the smell of the hardwoods burning in the cooking hearths makes quite an impression when you walk in the door. 5/5 stars for this experience.
