one tree grill

spur of the moment dinner choice by my partners parents. is quite a fine dining place although we were able to dine in with casual clothes 👍 haven't been a big fan with fine dining due to their small fine meals (cause i eat alot lol) but i left this place feeling soo satisfied and full! service was great! we were checked upon by a range of people throughout the night. good lighting as well, places you in a relaxed and comfortable mood. the food was amazing! by far the best dinner i've had in a while. everything from the scallop entree to the pork belly main was melt in your mouth perfection! this place may actually be the best place i have eaten at in my life! the only thing i can criticise on would be the small selection of sides you order with your main. could have a bigger selection. but other than that... wow!!

my partner took me to one tree grill for my birthday last night, every year she wows me with her restaurant choice and this year was no exception. this restaurant would have to be one of the best eateries in auckland. i have travelled extensively around europe and like to think i am a discerning diner. our waiter was an english guy and he was highly efficient and very quirky. the food was divine with wonderful attention to detail. i had the venison for starter followed by the snapper for main, my partner had the scallops and the eye fillet. a superb evening. we will definitely be coming back. highly recommended.

came here for lunch today, and ordered the eye fillet cooked medium rare. the steak was rather medium to welldone - it was very disappointing. for the price you pay, i wouldn't recommend steaks here.

lovely ambience. waitstaff very attentive. moët rose champagne, and 2006 moss wood cabernet both delightful. music and lighting moody but not pretentious.

entree of scallops perfect - seared, plump and tasty. main of pasture fed eye fillet with mushrooms and side of green beans wonderful. double cooked chips very moreish.

only criticism is that bread roll not absolutely fresh, albeit tarragon whipped butter smoothed out the evident chewiness.

finished with affogato and pedro ximenez - i do love this dessert finisher. coffee a little bitter, but maybe my palate had fatigued with the flavour sensations which preceded.

beautiful food. the wait team were very attentive and ensure glasses were kept full. four of us had 3 courses each and all were 10 out of 10. the guys really enjoyed the oysters and my duck was so tender and cooked to perfection. as for dessert, omg, heaven. couldn't fault a thing, even got parking close by.

amazing! i came here as a birthday treat using a voucher for the 5 course degustation. from the moment we arrived the service was attentive but not overbearing and made us feel extremely welcome and looked after. all five courses were delicious with my favorite being the pork belly main which melted in your mouth with crisp crackling. we shared a bottle of the man o war pinot gris which was a great accompaniment. delicious food, delectable wine and amazing service! can't wait to go back!

my girlfriend and i having 6 courses degustation at one tree grill for the first time. the meals flavor was well balanced, even its small portion but still pretty filling. service is good and friendly, will go back and try other chef's cooking dish!

this is one of our favourite dining places- sitting perfectly between fine dinning and cosy night out. the food is always good and staff were friendly yet efficient. i know they try really hard to maintain their established position in such a competitive industry in auckland. i particularly loved the matching wine experience that we had this time. the owner was very acknowledgeable taking appropriate time to explain the background of each wine. they are definitely creative enough to put some unusual(but working well) ones in the mix. i enjoyed a chardonnay so much i finished the whole glass before the main arrived. the attentive owner came to top up for another glass -nice touch!

came here for the set valentines dinner menu which came with 1 entree, 1 main and 1 dessert for each of us.

service was pretty spot on right from the get go. after ordering, we received complimentary bread which was great. our entrees came quickly and we got the lamb belly and the salmon. the salmon dish was yum! that's definitely the favourite out of the two. the lamb dish was tasty too but lacked the freshness the salmon had.

for the mains we opted for the pork belly and the eye fillet and it was safe to say they were both amazing. my eye fillet was probably one of the best tasting meat dish i've had in a while. the meat melts in your mouth and other elements on the dish were spot on. the pork belly was pretty good too, and my partner enjoyed it. the only negative we had was probably the fatty layer and that the crackling wasn't as crackly as we would like.

moving on to the desserts and oh my god, that salted chocolate mousse! soooooooooo amazing. my favourite dish of the night i reckon. the mousse was so chocolatey but salty and light at the same time and the sorbet in the plate just cleanse your palate again, ready for more. everything just worked really well on the plate. my partner got the poached pear and it tasted good too. but for me, nothing could beat my mousse.

overall, i loved my dining experience here and can't wait to go back for that eye fillet and mousse.

we came here for our anniversary dinner, and it did not disappoint. appetizer, entree, main to dessert, everything was perfection.

as we have moved to melbourne now, this is our must-go-to place whenever we're back in auckland.

the service was amazing and we were served breads and carpaccio while we waited for our food.

we left very satisfied.

it was a fine meal me and my wife had on my wife's birthday. the place felt a little more easy going & casual than i had expected but its not a bad thing. good food and service. pleasant experience on the food, but nothing too exceptional. we'll probably go back to dine again, but for more casual occasions.

amazing food, and fantastic service! we shared 4 desserts in the end and the 53% salted chocolate was to die for! i would also come here just for the dessert! great presentation for food and i love how there's a wine/beer recommendation for every single meal! would definitely be back!

went here for a late christmas celebration with the bf! we had a 6 course degustation voucher from grab one. what a great way to spend an evening! my favourite was the asparagus 2nd course. i was a little disappointed with the fish and had food envy over my partners eye fillet. needless to say i was very full at the end. we didn't get the wine match but i did try 2 of their recommendations!

it's glad that we choose one tree grill to have our team xmas lunch. nice staff and really felt welcomed. it needs to order set menu if the order is 10 ppl above, so we choose set menu.
i tried eye fillet medium cooked and salted chocolate, you can tell from even first bite of the food-it's made from fresh, healthy and high-end material. my colleagues tried pork belly which is crispy and the market fish with squid ink is really seafood-don't try it if you are not a seafood lover. the lemon curd with frozen yoghurt is bit of sour. all presentation of the plates are good. will come back later on for family dinner.

great ambiance! me and my partner had a good time, decent atmosphere. we had clear fish, steak and it was nice. staff could've been more polite. all in all decent experience.
