what a gem. what a great find, i had no idea this great cafe was even here tucked away on the mooloolah river under the point cartwright lighthouse. i was walking with my friend and her dog and we spotted this cafe, they even had a tie up area for our dog with water bowls in full view of our table. i instantly got hungry and ordered the eggs benedict and i must say it was one of the best benedict's i have ever had, so fresh. the barista made me a double shot cappucino 3/4 full and no chocolate without even a question, very unusual. i have now found my favourite cafe on the coast. not to mention homemade cakes.

heard about one on la balsa in sydney, we paid a visit while on holidays, will be recommending this cafe to all our friends on the northern beaches, staff friendly, food sensational, and geoff the owner spent some time explaining what to do and where to go while here
we are relocating, and will be moving to this area, all our visitors from sydney will be dining at one on la balsa

had the “super salad” which sounded healthy on the menu. standard boiled sweet potato and veges swimming in some kind of creamy dressing. couldn’t finish it. won’t be back.

make a reservation in advance as this place can get quite busy especially on weekends. the food is nice but they have limited vegetarian options. the menu is inflexible if the place is crowded. the ambience is beachy and lively. the views are pretty good and the location is great. one can take a nice walk along the wharf or take a 5 min drive to point cartwright. service was good, people were very considerate when we were waiting for our table.

exceptional service and the views are wonderful. we had the grilled fish with chips and salad and we thoroughly enjoyed it. can't fault this little cafe.

wow, this place is fabulous. not only is the food exceptional (crispy bacon, perfect eggs... ), you get to overlook a beautiful view of the water as well! the coffee is excellent, as is the service. how did i not try this place sooner!! will be back for sure. thanks for an amazing breakfast :)

don't believe what you read on their website - it's not so true....., pet frendly ha!
if you call tying your dog to a tree on the street and leaving them there "frendly" - while you are up a flight of stairs where they can't see you...., fretting !!
we phoned ahead specifically wanting to buy a bag of merlo to take back home afterwards....., which they said they do. well they do it only if you want the same grind as their machine - nothing else !!
so if your coffee machine is not a commercial machine and you only after expresso blend - don't bother.

coming from melbourne, i know a good cafe when i see one, and one on la balsa cafe is just that! it’s a local gathering spot, where everyone knows everyone, and finding a table is a mission as it’s the only cafe in the area.

not pet friendly! my friendly chihuahua wasn't allowed to step foot even on the stairs i drove 50mins because they advertise pet friendly but that is obviously a con they expect u to tie your dog downstairs where you can't even see them not impressed

just what the doctor ordered. i arrived at this place with a group of friends extremely hungover. the service was incredible, very friendly and the meal came out in perfect timing. i ordered from the breakfast menu and all ingredients were extremely fresh, and cooked to perfection. the juice was so good that i went back and ordered a smoothie. aaa+++ and will definently be returning, great location and extremely clean and welcoming.

breakfast & lunch. this is the place for the best breakfast on the coast. visitors to the coast take them to one one la balsa. the food is great, the view is wonderful and the staff are probably the friendliest on the coast. they really take an interest in people.
lunch is also great with a varied menu of tasty food. a great spot for a ladies luncheon or lunch with friends.

amazing fresh juice. followed by great salt n pepper squid on a large salad. always friendly staff and overlooks the water. fantastic. oh and the coffee is great to. just drinking my short mac now.
