olive's greek taverna

worst service perhaps ever. i went there on friday with my husband. it was freezing and there was air conditioning blowing un us despite it being cold outside. our waitress stopped to get a pad and pencil in the middle of me giving my order because apparently me asking for no olive and onions was too much. but not only did she stop in the middle of taking an order but she went and got and deliveredfoodto another table next to us first. i asked for a side salad "to start" and didn't get it until my entree came. i wanted to say something about it considering there was an unusually long wait for our dinner but she never came by to our table. she went to other tables and asked how theirfoodwas and delivered there salads and didn't even look at us. then we finally got ourfoodand the salad was on the side of my plate and not worth the $3 it cost to get it with my meal. probably the rudest waitress i've ever had. its one thing to get bad service but another to see service given to everyone around you by the same person while being ignored. never again.

overpriced. i think this restaurant is overpriced and thefoodportions are too small.

i am 1/2 greek myself so i know real greek cuisine when i taste it - i also know a great tavena when i find one. i came to olives with a party of 10 family for a reunion dinner - the purpose was to share my greek heritage with the other members of my extended family that are not greek. the place was extremely busy with a coupon promotion going on - but that did not stop the awesome staff of this establishment from producing deliciousfood- attentive service and a atmosphere for me and my other nine family members - if you are looking for a memorable experience for a family gathering or perhaps just you are looking for something different you got it at olives!

disappointed.... i too visited the restaurant last, june 12, 2013. olives was of my favorite restaurants until now because something happened/changed. thefoodwas one of my favorite things about the place along with the quaint location. the portions have dramatically decreased and thefoodwas tasteless. i ordered the greek fries along with the coconut shrimp & salad. the fries were served in a little round bowl & had more feta than fries! in the past it was a mountain of fries served on a plate enough for 2 or more...the quality, quantity & the cost is no longer worth the trip for me!

so mediocre. i am stunned to see the approval rating is generally positive for this place. i have been here half a dozen times because it's a convenient place to meet up with my friend, but i finally feel the need to say thefoodis completely mediocre and i can't stand the thought of paying for their overpricedfoodever again. the wait staff has been nice to us, i will say, but thefoodis not worth the money in my opinion. and the fact that i never seem to have enough cash for the bill and have to use an atm fee and get charged a fee for that just adds insult to injury. the pizza i ordered last night tasted like frozen pizza and it was just the last straw for me.

disappointed. i've been here before for lunch and enjoyed it. talked my husband into going for dinner. they don't take reservations for parties fewer than 3. had to wait quite awhile for a table for two. the "new" bar room is nice and the bar looks nice but there is no bartender- just really odd. so, if someone sits at the "bar",one of the waitresses has to run behind there and serve them.
my biggest complaint was that there was a kitchen worker ( dishwasher ?) who for some unexplained reason was all over the restaurant and in and out of the restaurant many, many times, and he was really unappetizing to look at and realize that he was anywhere near yourfoodbeing prepared. he had longer stringy hair, a large, stained, sweaty (wet) t-shirt hanging out ....
i'm sorry - but why was he constantly parading around the restaurant??? i also hate the one bathroom - which he was also in and out of twice while we were waiting for our table. yuck.

not great. my husband and i went for our anniversary... we had been here once before over a year ago and thought it was decent and we wanted to give it another try. thefoodwas really not that good, and the service, while friendly, was very slow. ourfoodarrived in a timely manner but we had to ask to have our water glasses refilled after they had been completely empty for more than 20 minutes. we did enjoy the one appetizer we had, but it was all downhill from there. the presentation of thefoodon the plates was amateurish, and the meals were incredibly average- i've had much better greekfoodat family diners and for less money. the dessert we ordered was a huge disappointment. everyone at olives is very welcoming, and even with the inattentive service we might have given it another try, but the less than averagefoodand the lack of attention to detail will prevent us from ever returning.

warm and friendly. outstanding from start to finish. warm and melting cheese begins almost every meal we have here and them comes the perfect main course which changes seasonly. for the big finish, there is the best bread pudding ever created!
love thefoodand love the people who prepare and serve it with such care.

just don't.. this place was really disappointing. i've spent some time in greece, so i know a little about thefoodfirsthand. i was not expecting truly authentic dishes, but when my "chicken pita" was made with breaded chicken strips that undoubtedly made a journey straight from a freezer bag to a microwave to my plate, i just had to laugh. i felt like complaining but said nothing. i regretted that after my wife told me after we left that she'd overheard our waitress loudly complaining to another server about how i'd only gotten water to drink. (sorry, we were planning on ice cream after dinner. didn't need the extra calories.) save yourself the grief and go to aladin's just up the road.
