come to denver! i visited my family in tulsa and ate at oklahoma joe's for the first time. the ribs and bologna were excellent. i have been and denver for over 2 years with sub par bbq, now i have one more reason to look forward to my visits back to t-town!

the beans. as i write this, i am eating some of their beans cold they are so good. we had family in from out of state. i had to go back twice to get another quart of the beans, they ate them like no tomorrow. they also loved the spicy cole slaw and niether of them really were cole slaw lovers. the chopped brisket was great this time and not dry at all. perfect. their hot bbq sauce is the bomb. hide some of the beans, or there will be none for you left. ha

good stuff. we got ribs, chopped brisket and pulled chicken. the ribs were excellent, meaty, hardly any fat and just the right amount of smoke. the chicken was a tad dry but had good flavor and with a little sauce on it, was good. same for the chopped brisket, good flavor, a tad dry but over all, good with sauce on it. try the hotter bbq sauce ,it's so good. steer clear of the fried okra, it was tough and fried whole. good beans with chopped brisket in them. mmm. i liked the twist on the spicy cole slaw. there's a tad of spicy bbq sauce flavor in there, no goopiness. great flavor. my only complaint is their lack in the number of sides to pick from. there's 3. that's it. oh you can get fries instead with a .50 upcharge which i guess is ok. but where's the corn on the cob, and other choices? we'll try them again, if nothing more than the hot bbq sauce and ribs, good enough to go back. friendly and efficient the day i went.

horrible burnt ends and coleslaw.. i at oklahoma joes for the first time in broken arrow. i had a hankering for burnt ends. the only ones i've ever tried are from gates barbecue in kansas city. let me tell you, if you like burnt ends and are as picky as i am especially when you're paying a good price, you expect a great tender burnt ends and good smoky flavor. there is really not much comparison as the difference in quality is so much greater at gates bbq. oklahoma joe's would be like a little leaguer in a league with gates. needless to say i was very disappointed and will never ever be back ever. the other issue was broken arrow location has no place to sit for those who place an order in person or over the phone 4 for pickup. another issue is there coleslaw it has a thousand island type colored dressing in it and actually a little dirty or colored and is very sweet absolutely horrible. don't fall for the hype of this place it is nothing more than a cheap billy sims barbecue. nuff said without belittling them too much just don't waste your time or money.

i have been to ok joe's multiple times and have been very happy each time. i love both of their sauces. the smoked white chicken chilli is amazing. brisket is good ( not quite as good as mac's in skiatook). short end ribs are great. the burnt ends are like meat candy...so good. the z-man sandwich with brisket, two onion rings, and smoked provolone is a nice bbq change up. i can't express enough how good the smoked white chicken chilli is.

okla joe. you walk up & order, then you stand & wait for your food, then carry your tray to your table & go get your own drink. fast food atmosphere. the meats were mediocre & the sides were just horrible! very overpriced for what you receive.

kind of a letdown :-/. the 4 of us showed up @ 5:30 on a tues. eve, ordered a bit of everything, and was amazed (!) that all of it (except the unique slaw & beans....) was very, very bland! pulled pork was the "best" of the bunch, sausage & hotlink were even bland we all agreed....weird...expecting more, i'd ordered a extra 1/2 rack of ribs, and was surprised that they were bland too....and the hot sauce at least threw some flavor their way, but that regular sauce is boring ! i spent $38 for 2 people and left very disappointed....."...as someone said here, there's better bbq in the tulsa area ( and fyi mr. joe : maybe look into the great local sauces too & mountain view hotlinks are a step up towards flavor-town ! always learning, right ?) can you tell the $38 burnt my end !? ( w/ waters !)

three ingredients for a super summer weekend: rainbow bombs all over social media (a la the supreme court ruling in favor of same-sex marriage nationwide), barbecued burnt ends, and cool gelato!. this weekend tasty tulsa celebrated all of the happy news with a no-holds-barred feast of burnt ends at oklahoma joe’s, topped off with a cool, smooth gelato from the gelateria.

the ribs and bbq where really good. i also liked the fried okra which is served whole not cut. you order at the counter and pretty much do for yourself here, but the food is worth it.

this mostly applies to the 61st location, but i'm sure that it applies to all. in my opinion, this is a third rate barbecue place. there's no doubt it comes in behind most independently owned bbq restaurants, but this also fails to reach the level of rib crib or billy sims barbecue. the food is simply ho-hum. i don't have a better explanation. it's just not distinctive at all. and on top of that the fact that the service staff really couldn't care less, so you've got a lousy experience. we have given them two or three tries, but have been disappointed every time. no more for us.

my son and i were very excited to go to oklahoma joes because we had heard good reviews. we were met at the door by a friendly employee who recommended the burnt end sandwich. we went to the cashier and ordered and i was surprised that the sandwich was ten dollars each but dismissed this though because i figured a side was coming with it too. nope i was wrong just a cold sandwich with three slices of pickles! the meat itself was edible but also had plenty of fat too! come on oklahoma joes! you could at least offer a reasonably priced lunch time sandwich with a couple of sides like some other barbecue places offer! we definitely will will not be back! we were definitely burnt on the quality and price of the burnt ends sandwich!!
