oblivion

after reading the lovely reviews and recommendations on the pizzas i was eager to try them out and experience oblivion.
i was highly disappointed with my pizza, it was on the fence of being edible; the avo was brown, pizza based over cooked and waaay too much seasoning. although being disappointed by my meal, the vibe and setting on the upstairs deck made up for it, the view of the mountain is spectacular and watching the sunset from the deck is something out of a movie. a+ for set up, decor and location. c- for food. a for service.

first time out was not the easiest venue to find. should have just followed the crowd.
unfortunately was not able to indulge in any of the meals on offer - arrived late and everyone had already eaten.
but back to the venue - this place really lights up the night ‘saturday night fever’ dance floor and all. was waiting / expecting john travolta to appear, white suit and all the moves.did have a flash back or two from past disco era.
oblivion is like a red bull on steroids.starts off relatively calm and gathers momentum as the night progresses.  a vibe that gets people on their feet and on the odd occasion, on the tables too. place was well packed out, so the ordering of drinks did take some time. understandable given the volume of thirsty people.
bar people - great job - you endured and conquered.
in summary - really memorable evening spent here. great atmosphere, good selection of music, great people and in essence a southern venue worthy of a good few visits.
will return to eat and no doubt, party on some more.

definitely one of my favs. awesome comfort food, an awesome range of wine and beer, designated smoking section, and a brilliant quiz night every monday night, round up your friends and give it a go, always great fun.

went here for a friends birthday and the food was delicious and cannot be faulted! service also wonderful! however the restaurant is full of smokers! this completely put me off my meal! i tried contact the restaurant to raise it with them and all attempts were ignored. this goes against every regulation in south africa and is just unacceptable in my eyes!

always a fun night at oblivion. the pizzas are good and the drinks are always flowing. rumor has it if you get your feet to touch the roof, you and your mates get a free round of drinks? will have to keep trying.

has a nice vibe. mostly been there for their pub quizzes (definitely a must go) . pizzas are reasonably priced and good. staff are friendly.

although i have to admit that i have frequented oblivion more for the flashing dance floor that comes alive around 8pm and the monday night quiz nights...the pizza is really great. they have a wonderful upstairs area that looks onto the mountains and is fantastic in the summer. great spot for drinks pizza and a possiblity (or lets rather say guarentee) of a dance on the weekends.

i came here for lunch recently and was pleasantly surprised by the well rounded menu, the service and the food itself. our pizza and the nachos were both delicious, however the guacamole in the nachos was the ultimate winner for us! lastly, i can't wait to try their quiz night (monday's- bookings essential apparently).

really good place to go for a party if you're in the southern suburbs! they play great music, there's a cool little dancefloor inside and tables outside for when you need a breather :) i tried their pizza which was yummy, and the service was really friendly and on the ball

great place to party. it's changed a lot since i was first here several years ago, it's alot nicer now. i particularly like the upstairs area. i cannot speak for the food as i have never eaten here but the jol was good.

what a view! service is fantastic. we didn't have anything to eat but we had a great time at oblivion. if you can sit on the rooftop terrace.

oblivion is a great spot for a cocktail and some great supper too. then if you're in the mood possibly some dancing. lots of fun and great place to sped with your close friends.

it's a cheeky little place as it's transforms at different parts of the day! in the afternoons you can have drinks and lunch on their veranda which has stunning views of the mountain. at night time it is great for dinner and drinks with friends and later on it becomes quite the party spot for the locals!

a place i've been to both for dinner and for a good time with a few mates! the food is awesome, the drinks are a bit pricey... overall the environment is really fantastic!
