northstar cafe

this is one of my favorite restaurants! everything i have ordered from the menu is great! the northstar burger, cheeseburgerand burrito are my go to dishes. the have a great brunch menu as well!

raised prices too high. i love the northstarburgerand kale salad, and am willing to pay a little extra for them. unfortunately northstar recently raised the price for both items beyond what even i am willing to pay. aburgerand drink will run you almost $18, as will a salad and drink. sorry, but who is going to spend $18 on aburgeror salad, no matter how good? even worse, northstar also recently started asking for tips in a particularly in-your-face manner. this is for ordering at the counter -- there is no wait service. northstar used to advertise that tips were not needed because they pay their staff an adequate wage. did they cut wages for staff at the same time as they raised prices?

sorry, but if i'm going to pay $18 plus tip for a meal, i want something more than a counter-serviceburgeror salad.

northstar, please add tempeh!. we vegetarians love the food at northstar! the veggieburgeris awesome, the buddha bowl is delicious ... and my hubby has dreams about the thai burrito. my only suggestion is that they include tempeh as an alternative to meat. many of us have thyroid issues and clash with tofu. tempeh, however, is fermented soy and does not interfere with the thyroid. hope this gets forwarded to someone in charge!

one of my columbus favs.... amazing. i don't think there is any other way to describe their style and their food. i usually visit one in clintonville or easton at least once a month.

**whatever you do, try the northstar burger. i am a meat and potatoes girl, and thisburgerwill make your beef loving friends try it twice. it's that good!

yum!. i can't tell you how much i love this place! i've never had anything bad and everyone in my family can find something they like no matter what their tastes. i'm extra partial to the buddha bowls, the cowboy breakfast, the northstarburgerand the amazing chocolate cookies. oh! and the ham and cheese scones are the stuff of dreams!

northstarburgeris king!. i'm not a vegatarian, but the northstarburgeris one of the best!!! make sure to order extra mustard with it!

earth day burger. heard from a friend that nsc was offering a free blackbeanburgeron earth day. wow!!! i will be back for a full price meal on a regular basis!! what an amazing meal!! filling, healthy, and oh sooooo delicious! i didn't believe the hype until i tried it for myself, and now i kick myself for not trying it sooner!

losing focus. while still decent and offering some great items, it seems that northstar is losing it's focus.

first it was the flat screen tv, then the beefburgerand fries... it feels like they are losing their nitch of attracting the health concious and trendy crowd in order to appeal to the mass market. while i know it's just business, it might be time to re-think how your current customers react when you try to branch out too much. ps- bring back the turkey sandwich
