absolutely loved the ambiance of the place, the place was neat and the brass utensils were lovely,

the jhol momo was out of this world with thin momos in a warm tomato based soup that was perfect for the cold weather.

the next thing that we loved was the phing ( glass noodle) was absolutely delicious.

the thali was a little underwhelming. i've had better ones in kolkata itself. have eaten a lot of hill thalis but this was strictly average.

the shaphale was decent, won't say wow.

but overall the food was nice and i would surely recommend the jhol momo and phing

lazy service, took ages to just bring the menu. then said only thali is available. could've said it jn the beginning only and saved the time.

i am writing this review sitting in the restaurant. pathetic service, nobody gives a darn to your order and this when the restaurant isn't even half occupied. they took more than 40 mins to serve the dish and didn't even care to tell us that it will take that long and on top of that, they don't know how to be courteous and talk with a smile at least. we asked for tingmo and they told us that it's not available but it was served at the table next to ours!
pls avoid...there are loads of much better restaurants in gangtok to try local cuisine.

worst place to be in gangtok. please avoid! service was poor, food was tasteless, staff was arrogant. that pretty much sums it up.

this restaurant is located at mg marg gangtok. staff are very helpful for choosing menu. food taste was good.

we had an amazing experience here. just coming from a west sikkim trip, we wanted to re-live the local cuisine which we experienced in our home stays. nimtho has created a beautiful ambience with its mudd and wood interior with beautiful art works and all brass plates and cups.

the chef vishnu was extremely helpful and came to our table when we asked for recommendations and some alterations as i don't like certain preparations. he made the extra effort to prepare it in a way i like it without compromising on the taste. he later came again to check on us. outstanding!
they even had the local drink chang in a tongba here which we'd enjoyed a lot during out trip.

the place is a must visit for everyone visiting gangtok!

steaming hot food after a rainy day, together with a relaxed environment and subtle lighting, makes nimtho an amazing delight for tourists. if you want to try some authentic food from sikkim, nepal, tibet and the north east, nimtho is just perfect! the quality of food and portion size is commendable. but if you want to use the handwash or the washroom, please brace yourselves. otherwise, it's very clean and the staff are quite professional and friendly.

great ambience and very polite staff.
we tried the sikkimese thali and thukpa, both were quite good. had a tongba and it was a great experience... must try if u have not had it before. must visit if u want to sample some authentic local cuisine. go for it.

loved the nepali and sikkimi thali. nice chef. great fresh food. tried sandekho as well it was good. right in the middle of the mg street.

food is fantastic. thakali thali is a must try. as is the pork curry. service takes forever. there is always just one server. be prepared to wait to wait at least 45 minites

i think this is one of the worst hotel in gangtok. we went 2 times for dinner and lunch. but they denied to serve food. we went there at 5:30 to book our table and they said they can't book because it is priority basis. they said to visit 7:30 p.m. we went for dinner at 7:30 p.m sharp but they said food is finished. then we went next day for lunch, in zomato it was written it will open 11:30 a.m we called them and they said to come around 12 p.m but we went there at 12p.m but then they said they can't serve food before 1 p.m. this is the worst restaurant i have ever visited. the staffs are very rude as well.

food perhaps too authentic/ bland for the typical north indian palate; horrible service - please have only those many guests enter your premise that you can serve reasonably timely

being a food admirer i love to taste local food whenever i travel. i can connect with the place more in this way. nimtho means warm invitation in sikkimese language. if you want to have authentic tibetan, sikkimese or nepalese food then this is the place. the interior decor waa beautifully rooted to their culture. we ordered phing, chicken choila, chicken sandheko, phapar ko roti, nepalese chicken curry and trust me you would love it. overall wonderful experience ..

have visited nimtho twice in my 15 days stay in gangtok. the food here is rich and made with love, the service here can slightly be improved provided they get more service staff.

tried jhol momo, shaphaley, thakali thali and sikkimese thali. the food overall is great and the ambience is good too.

a must visit for sure for everyone.
