nic's grill

after coming to okc for work for a while, i began to explore my eating options and recalled seeing this place on ddd. it's a small place, but theburgersare absolutely delicious! if you are new in town and looking for a great burger, this is your place!

outside eatery. at first glance the price of $10 seemed a little expensive for a burger, fries and a drink but this price is comparable to most dine-in restaurants. the wait for twoburgerswas kind of excessive but the quality of the food was great and being in the center of the myriad gardens while we waited wasn't a negative at all.

go there, you will enjoy every bite!. a friend of mine continued to tell me the merits of nic's until today when i finally had the occasion to try it for myself. it was great!burgersand fries are top billing; furthermore. nic and javon are awesome as well as all of the regulars that permeate this place daily! i was the only 1st timer in the place and i was welcomed to the party by everyone! do yourself a favor, go there, wait how ever long it takes to sit down and enjoy your food and listen to all of the conversations! this is a very special hot spot and it was well worth whatever it cost (which was minimal). tip javon well, he's worth his weight in gold and kudos to nic for such an awesome little place!

sweet dreams are made of nic's burgers.  hands down the best burger i've had.  

the bad - be prepared to wait, sometimes close to 45 minuets.  i've never seen the place without a line out the door.  and bring cash.

the good - every-friggin'-thing else.  theburgersare to die for.  nic is the nicest and most sociable guy you will ever meet.  i've never seen him in a bad mood.  i'm pretty sure he doesn't even know the definition of it.

unfortunately i've recently move so i won't get to enjoy nic's as often.  but that will only make my future frequent trips to okc all that more memorable.

theseburgersare the best in okc! be prepared to wait in line, but the wait is worth it. the restaurant is very tiny, and the menu is straight forward. cash only.

verdict: as good as it gets. tiny diner that has a line out the door. contrary to the hours listed in zomato, it is actually only open from 10-2, m-f. no breakfast. this place is all about the burgers. when you finally make your way inside, they get your drink order and confirm you're there for the cheeseburger. you don't tell them what you want on it until yours is nearly ready, then they ask you.

nic cooks and runs the place and has one other guy helping him. they cook about 10 half poundburgersat a time and once those are built and distributed, slap another 10 or do on the grill. they offer thick cut bacon, thick sliced cheese, and their fresh grilled jalapeños are rocket fuel. no wonder it's been on a couple of television shows. put this place atop your short list.

great food. great people.. we moved to okc a little over a year ago and kept hearing about nic's grill. we ended up driving by the place & didn't see a line, so we stopped in to give it a try. i am so happy we did! the burger was outstanding - been to squeeze in in northern california and mrs. kim's in south korea with a few hundred other burger joints around the world and i can honestly say this burger is the best. don't expect anything fancy, nic's doesburgerslike they're suppose to be: hearty, well -cooked & seasoned meat patty, perfectly melted cheese, and piled- high toppings sandwiched in between a fresh bun. the service is amazing and extremely friendly. the restaurant atmosphere is cozy & enjoyable. i'll be back again and will happily wait in line to try out more of their menu.

always brings a smile to my face ;) javon has a talent of remembering all of their repeat customers drink orders. i love that when we walk in he hands us a sweet tea and dr. pepper. nic knows how we like ourburgerstoo ;). they love their customers and do an awesome job of making you feel right at home. javon even steps outside to take orders so when you come in your burger is already on the grill.

this place is awesome!! best hamburger in okc! fun experience!!

it's an experience, love the ritual. oklahoma is the capital of the best hamburgers in the world! i really think this should be one of our tourism attractions. there are so many greatburgersof all sorts in this state.
nic's for me was a great experience. you know when a place starts lining up at 10:30 a.m. to eat a burger you're in for something. it's a great show, and watching the "intern" slither past nic as they do their ballet of onions, beef, and buns is bound to be an iconic memory in okc.
sorry, i don't like any burger that slides out of the bread bun the first time i pick it up.
nic is an icon of okc. i am sure they will always do well.

theburgers(both!) were juicy and delicious. yes, i licked my fingers. oh yes i did. i savored each and every bite. theburgerswere good-sized (they give you a fork when theburgersare served), i would say more than a quarter pound after cooking, and they were cooked medium-well as are all the burgers. and even after i was full, i just couldn’t help myself from a “finishing off bite” (or two…). my last morsel had some of the juicy beef, cheese, mayo, lettuce and tomato, a tender mushroom, and a caramelized onion. a great “finishing off bite” indeed.

best find in oklahoma. i love burgers, even though there are burger places on every corner, new "specialty" burger places. i always have to give it a try, but always feel the experience was average. i love sports, epecially the sooners, so a friend suggested i try nic's grill in okc. went there during lunch, good grief that place was packed, the line was long, but i thought they must be doing something right for all this hoop la!!! got my seat, amazed at how much stuff could fit in a small place and i still not feel cramped. couldn't believe the smell, salivate doesn't even describe it, watched those beautifulburgersbeing passed out and felt like a kid so excited to get mine!!! wow-one bite and i was sold, so fresh, the meat was not like any burger i had eaten, obviously not frozen, but thick quality beef!!! i shared fries with my husband, there is no way i could have eaten all of that myself. my husband and i go to kinkaids in fort worth, that's the best burger we had found until now, i felt guilty as my husband and i raved about nic's grill. we also loved the sooners theme, obviously they loved the sooners too. would have loved to speak to whoever runs the place, but they were far to busy for chit-chat. i can't wait to go back, i've told everyone i know about my awesome discovery. we have a group from work planning to make a road trip, one of our main objectives is to swarm nic's grill, my friends will love me forever!!!! some people enjoy all food, but i loveburgersand good ones are hard to find! i do have one complaint, the place is too small, obviously the people in okc love nic's too!! we texans will be making a trip north very soon, so you okies move over we are taking over at nic's, won't be enough room for both of us!!. i hope a nic's grill will make its way to fort worth, it will crush kinkaids, but i will be so happy, even though my butt will grow. sorry this was so long, but just couldn't believe that little burger hut. oh, it's not expensive either, i'm still trying to figure out how they sell that quality food and quantity for that price, but i'll take advantage!!! the service was fast and friendly, other than small, not one negative thing to say about the whole experience!! my husband is so shocked, he wants to meet the owner, just to know who could create something i couldn't find fault, especially a burger!!!

nicsburgersare hands down the best in okc, ok, usa and the solar system. anybody refuting that fact should have their taste buds checked. also slap yourself cause you are in dreamland. the friendly staff ensure your time is well spent. i try to attend the establishment once a week. twice if the wife allows it. ''where's my t-shirt nic!!''

once again, outstanding! seriously, the best burger in okc...possibly the world. excellent atmosphere. superior + friendly service.
the guy behind me in line was from new hampshire on business trip-plans his return flights around lunch @ nic's!
nic himself is the nicest guy. just love this place. go!

best burger in town! i won't go anywhere else. theburgersare huge. you could easily split one. service is just as awesome as the food. nic is super welcoming and the atmosphere is great.

bonus: even though the place is tiny and there are piles of onions on the grill at all times, you don't leave smelling like a hamburger. they must have a great ventilation system.
