good!. this is a restaurant i frequent and really think their noodles are the best in the city! there are far too many noodle shops in the city where one day the soup will be super flavorful, and the next day it will taste watered down. the soup is always flavorful, noodles are never overcooked, and they never skimp out on the extras likebeefand veggies. they are consistent! they also sell banh mi (vietnamese subs) which are not only delicious but dirt cheap! |(3.50 i believe) they sell bubble tea as well but i would advise against getting it because too often i find the bubbles to be hard and frozen, instead of soft and chewy as they should be.

disgusting. terrible service and the quality was horrible. ordered sataybeefpho and i've never ever had pho with tomatoes and lettuce in it. the broth was thick and weird tasting. my best friend is vietnamese so i know what authentic pho tastes like. and it was terrible. sorry. dirty cutlery but the bubble tea was decent.

good stuff. ordered the duck-fried rice, pho withbeefandbeeftripe, and the cantonese chow mein for takeout. they give you large portions, and all dishes were very good, esp. the duck. hard to find an asian restaurant in the city which offers duck dishes (can't think of any others ones aside from peking house and new town). anyways, judging by the crowd lined up at the till to order it seems like a popular place. the girl working the till was ridiculously cute too. i'll be ordering from here again for sure.

excellent vietnamese fare. the food is indeed excellent and i especially loved their vietnamese subs. the pickled vegetables combined with the assorted meats worked perfectly and proved to be more than a reasonable deal considering that it was only $5.

both the vermicelli and congee also tasted great and arrived in very large servings. i was honestly surprised to see so muchbeefin my congee and the 4 meat vermicelli was brimming with delicious rolls, sausages, and marinated meats. i left the restaurant very, very full.

ngoc van was full of diners by the time noon arrived and the atmosphere became very busy. the service was mediocre, considering that some servers were decent while others seemed to find the diners' requests a nuisance. overall, ngoc van serves very fresh food for great prices and large portions. i highly recommend giving them a try.

delish. this place offers the best soup around bar none. wor wonton soup andbeefsatay soup are so tasty and so fresh. the satay is definitely a cure all for any ailment, i swear. including a hangover. it'll make your nose run, it's so spicy. they make the best vietnamese sub. oh, and don't forget to have a bubble tea! also, it's cheap, cheap, cheap...you can't go wrong.

ngoc van is also my favourite vietnamese restaurant. i eat there regularly and i think it's by far the best in western canada. i've been in calgary, edmonton, and vancouver and have found nothing that can compare to this flavour. all my friends agree. almost everything on the menu is great. few items i recommend: #56 thai special soup; #74 crispy chicken; #36beefsatay soup, request it with egg noodles... and i could say a bunch more. soy (the owner), is the man!!!

edit 07/06/2017  i still go to n'goc van regularly, and had lunch there 2 days ago.  still fabulous!

had lunch at n'gpocthe best little pho house in regina!. n'goc van is my favourite because it offers the tastiest comfort food consistently at a reasonable price. they offer a wide variety of traditional soups from the different regions of vietnam and surrounding countries as well as the usual vermicelli bowls and entrees. soup specials weekday lunchtime are $6.45 and regular sized bowls are $7 - $9 with the most expensive entrees like lemon chicken only being $12. it's been a while since prices have gone up so i bet they'll move 50 cents or so within the year. sometimes it's packed so if i think it's going to be busy i'll go just before or after the rush. they started off years ago in another location half a block west selling bahn mi, (vietnamese submarines), and about 4 or 5 entrees with one table and three chairs. now they feature about 10 different kinds of subs, (personal favourites are combination andbeefsate). bahn mi is a legacy of the french occupation of vietnam featuring cold cuts, pate, cucumber, shredded carrot and cilantro on a small baguette. they are nearly the perfect take out food! in short, i have too little time to say all the good things i'd like to about n'goc van and the wonderful people who run it.
