argumentative manager, condescending servers. we went there in for my birthday in june, and i was very impressed with the way they welcomed us. we had bruschetta to begin with and it was very good. i had the house salad, also excellent and my husband the caesar, which was made the proper way with rubbed garlic and egg white.
we each ordered a pasta dish. my husband chose linguine di pesce with steamed mussels and shrimp and it looked absolutely spectacular - and he said it was. i had the pasta and meatball dish. both were good. so far, so good.
the experience was spoiled by the waitstaff however, who seemed annoyed to have to serve us. at first we thought we had unwittingly said something to offend, but noticed we were not the only customers getting the cold treatment. my special evening out was becoming uncomfortable now.
we ordered dessert and coffee. we both ordered the cheesecake and coffee. the coffee was good, but when i tasted the first forkful of my cheesecake, the tip was hot - the sides were not. i asked our disgruntled waitress if they had microwaved it and she told the manager who came to our table and said they had since it had been frozen. i loathe anything microwaved and was astonished that such a nice restaurant, and especially an italian restaurant had done that. i refused to eat it and the manager became hostile and argumentative, so we left our coffee on the table and exited the restaurant never to return. my evening was totally spoiled.
if an apology had been given or the price taken off the bill, had our waitress been cheerful or even civil and courteous, and if the manager not been so hostile we would have returned for the quality of the food.
